Classes of Service

Prev Next

This table defines Classes of Service which are used in conjunction with USOCs and Access Line Equivalent (ALE) reports. Examples include residential or business.

Note

A residential class of service may have different ALE values than a business class of service.

ALE is a term used to indicate the number of equivalent access lines that one high-capacity date line such as T1 or ISDN represents. Access Line equivalents provide a more accurate means of comparing connection capacity, and are used for measuring revenue.

The values in this table are used to populate the Class of Service drop-down list for Products, Packages, Pricing Plans, AdvancePay Products (wireless only), and Services in Product Catalog.

To set up and maintain the Classes of Service table:

  • Under Data Management double-click Classes of Service. This displays the Class of Service window.

The Classes of Service window contains the following information.

Class of Service ID (read only)

System-generated identifier that uniquely identifies the class of service.

    Description

A description of the class of service.

The shortcut menu for this table lets you add, edit and delete classes of service. See Working with Data Management Tables.
