This table lists the kinds of services that can be associated with a service number for E911 use. Having the proper Type of Service associated with a service number helps to ensure the correct PSAP is contacted when an emergency call is received by the switch. This table lets you change the description field, but the E911 Type of Service indicator remains as required by the ALI. This table populates the E911 Type of Service drop-down list on the service E911 tab in Product Catalog and in the Service Number Details window when adding a new service to a customer. Also, the items in this table are criteria on the E911 Batch Detail Search window.
To set up and maintain this table:
Under Data Management double-click E911 Type of Service. This displays the E911 Type of Service window.
This window provides the following information:
E911 Type of Service ID
System-generated identifier that uniquely identifies the E911 Type of Service.
Description
Lists the description of the E911 Type of Service.
Notes:
You can assign a default E911 Type of Service to service types in Product Catalog or IDI Billing Solutions can develop specific scripts to assign the proper E911 Type of Service based on your company's business rules. Contact your Program Manager for special scripts.
You can change the description of the E911 Type of Service; however, this does not affect how the system interprets it.
