SKU

Unique number used to identify the new service.

Description

Enter the name of the new service.

Note

The name does not affect how the service is processed. For example, if you enter "Cellular" as the Description for an equal access service, the system still rates and bills the service as an equal access line.

Alias

A name for this service to enable it to be recognized by an external system, if necessary. This field can contain up to 50 characters

Alt. Invoice Desc.

An alternate name that can be displayed on the customers' invoices. Maximum number of characters = 50.

Service Class

Select a service whose characteristics meet those of the new service from the drop-down list (for example, Equal Access, 800, Dedicated, and so on).

Note

If "Local" or "VoIP" is selected from the drop-down list, the Per-Line Tax Configuration tab will appear in Edit mode. See Editing Services.

USOC

Universal Service Order Code (based on the Bell system) that identifies the product or service.

Class Of Service

Select the class of service from the drop-down list.

Default = None

Available Date

Select the date the service becomes available. Format - MM/DD/YYYY.

Discontinue Date

Select the date the service type is scheduled to be discontinued. Format - MM/DD/YYYY.

Invoice Category

Select the invoice category to be used to group invoice details.

Category

Select the default Product Category to apply general ledger accounts to services of this type.

Default Billing Status

Select the default billing status to use when the service is assigned to an account - Billing or Not Billing.

Service Tax Class

Select the appropriate service tax class from the drop-down list. See Tax Class and Method.

Usage Tax Method

Select the appropriate usage tax method from the drop-down list. See Tax Class and Method.

ALE

Access Line Equivalent - value used to measure a company's performance for a specific type of service or product.

Note

ALEs are measured on billed and pending services and are used to track churn.

Technology

Wireline - This field is not available.
Wireless - This field is active. Select CDMA/TDMA, Dual Mode (CDMA +SIM), or GSM.

Bypass 2 of 3 Rule

If checked, taxes are based on the customer's state taxes. See 2 of 3 Rule.

Is Prepaid

Check if this is a prepaid service.

Use Port Requests

Check if numbers of this service type can be ported in or out.

Enable CNAM Support

If checked, and if configured properly via a scheduled job, active services that have active CNAM products, will be exported to your established CNAM provider.

Note

This check box only works if and when the system has been configured to run a scheduled job that has been customized to export the file type to your CNAM provider. For additional information or questions, we recommend you contact your Program Manager.

Allow Temporary Service Numbers

If checked, temporary service numbers can be assigned to this service. Temporary service numbers are represented by "XXXXXXXXXX".

If NOT checked, temporary service numbers cannot be assigned to this service.

Note

You cannot select this check box if you are adding an inventoried wireless service (Service Class is Wireless and "Is Inventoried" is selected on the Inventory tab).

Allow Temporary Billing Numbers / MINs

If checked, temporary billing numbers or temporary MINs can be assigned to this service type. Temporary numbers are represented by "XXXXXXXXXX".

Require Preloaded SIMs

If checked, only customer-provided devices with preloaded SIMs can be activated.

If NOT checked, a CPE order with a SIM card that is not preloaded can be submitted.

Default = checked.

(For an embedded SIM card, a temporary SIM Card Number is assigned. Using the MDN, the embedded SIM information is retrieved during provisioning and added to the SIM Card table.

For a removable SIM card, the the ICCID (SIM ID for GSM) is assigned to the service and new SIM information added to the SIM Card table.)

Allow Sub-Services

If checked, enables the assignment of child services.

Note

This field can be modified at any time, but is only enforced at the time of assignment. Therefore, if this field is disabled after assignments have been made, any children that were created as a result of those assignments are not removed from the system. See Sub-Service Rules.

Allow Line Cards

If checked, the Equipment Line Card information for services of this type is available in Customer Management.

Note

This field is not visible for wireless service types.

Is Loadable

If checked, usage associated with this service type is loaded and billed.

If NOT checked, usage associated with this service type is NOT loaded, therefore, not billed. This should be used for service types that support service numbers up to 30 digits in length and are not meant to be rated, such as Circuit IDs.

Require Handset Model

If checked, the handset model will be required when assigning this service type to a customer.
