Service Number Blocks

Service numbers can be tracked and managed in blocks, which are groupings of service numbers at the line number level (NPA-NXX-XXXX). They are created in groups of 1000 consecutive service numbers. For example, within the same exchange (NPANXX):

• line numbers 0000 - 0999 is one block,

• line numbers 1000 - 1999 is another block,

• line numbers 2000 - 2999 is a third block, and so on.

  Service Number Blocks are used for NRUF reporting purposes.

  Note

  Service number blocks received from another carrier may contain fewer than 1000 service numbers.

  To view the Service Number Blocks currently defined in the system:

1. From the Applications menu, select Inventory Management > Service Number Inventories > Service Number Blocks. This displays the Service Number Blocks window.

   The Service Number Blocks window provides the following information:

   Statistics Updated	Date and time the statistics were last updated. Statistics displayed in this window are automatically generated on a regular basis, via the Inventory Automatic Updates task that is executed by the Job Scheduler (see Inventory Automatic Updates). To recalculate these statistics, using the most current data available: Click Update Now. The Service Number Blocks window is updated with the recalculated statistics and this field is updated with the current date and time.
   NPANXX / X	First seven digits (NPA-NXX-X) of the service numbers in this block.
   Total Numbers	Total number of service numbers in this block that are NRUF reportable (NRUF Category is NOT set to Do Not Report). Note A service number is only counted once, even if that service number resides in multiple inventories.
   Block Status	Current status of this service number block. (See Inventory Status Reference.)
   Contaminated	Identifies whether or not any of the service numbers within this block are assigned to a customer or another carrier (inventory status is Assigned or Intermediate): Yes: Block is contaminated. One or more service numbers within this block are assigned to a customer or another carrier. No: Block is not contaminated. None of the service numbers within this block are assigned to a customer or another carrier.
   % Utilization	Number of Assigned service numbers that require NRUF reporting, divided by the total number of service numbers in the block (do not include Intermediate service numbers). Notes: Only service numbers that reside in inventories requiring NRUF reporting are included in this calculation. If a service number resides in multiple inventories, it is only counted once. Ported-In service numbers are not included in this calculation. Only percentages greater or equal to 1% are displayed. Only whole percentages are displayed.
   Block Owner	Switch that owns this service number block (switch's CLLI).
   Code Holder	Carrier associated with this service number block.
   Block Type	Origin of the service numbers within this block: Code Holder: Your company owns this block. Received (Not Code Holder): This block is owned by another carrier. You received this block from the pool administrator. Received (Intermediate): This block is owned by another carrier. You received this block directly from the carrier, without going through the pool administrator.
