Tasks can be scheduled to run automatically, on a regular basis (typically daily, during off-peak hours). To do this, the Job Scheduler must be installed and configured on your IDI Desktop Client. The Job Scheduler is an InfoScript that polls all scheduled tasks, in priority order, and executes any tasks that are pending or scheduled to run at that time. Since Billing Clerks have access to the Job Scheduler, they can run the InfoScript whenever the need arises.
The automatic inventory update tasks are executed in three steps:
1. Reservation Updates
Expire all reservations details, where:
Reservation Detail Status is Unconfirmed,
Inventory Status is Reserved, AND
Expiration Date occurs prior to the current date.
Delete all reservations and corresponding details, where the reservation’s Completion Date occurred more than 30 days in the past.
Delete all reservations that do not have reservation details associated with them.
2. Service Number Updates
Return all inventoried service numbers to inventory, where:
Inventory Status is Not Available or Aging AND
Available Date occurs prior to the current date.
3. MIN Updates (wireless only)
Return all inventoried MINs to inventory, where:
Inventory Status is Not Available or Aging AND
Available Date occurs prior to the current date.
