The Rating options let you determine which rating techniques are used during the rating of usage.

You can activate or deactivate several options. You can set these options up in Admin Console.
Call Time Range | Enter the call duration range (in seconds) between which usage records will be processed. |
Min Charge | The minimum monetary amount a rated usage must be in order for the record to be stored in a usage database. For example, if the minimum value is 1, usage records with a charge less than 1 are recycled. |
Max Charge | The maximum monetary amount a rated usage must be in order for the record to be stored in a usage database. For example, if the maximum value is 99999, usage records with a charge of 100,000 or more are recycled. |
Use Billed Duration | Checked: The system counts billed duration for Minute rating. Unchecked: The system counts actual duration for Minute rating. |
Ignore Bad NPANXX | Checked: Does not perform the NPANXX validations for each usage record against the NPANXX V&H tables. Unchecked: Performs the NPANXX validations for each usage record against the NPANXX V&H tables. |
RPD Effective Dates | Checked: Checks the effective date noted in the Rate Plan when calculating the rate of the usage record. This MUST be checked if you want to use the effective date rating capability. Unchecked: Ignores the effective date noted in the Rate Plan when calculating the rate of the usage record. |
Grace Period - Start | Contains the number of days that usage records for a service number are allowed to be charged BEFORE the provisioned date of the service number. Maximum Grace Period is 999 days. |
Grace Period - End | Contains the number of days that usage records for a service number are allowed to be charged after the specified date of disconnection. Maximum Grace Period is 999 days. |
Point-To-Point | Checked: Uses Local Calling Area rating method for applicable local calls. This method requires information imported from CCMI. Unchecked: Uses other rating methods as defined in rate plan details. |
Write Skipped CDR | Checked: Writes usage records to the bypass file location when a usage record is skipped, if supported by your front end. Unchecked: Does not store information from the usage records if the rating engine bypasses the rating of the usage detail record. |
Add Usage to Super Summary | Checked: Usage detail is added to the Super Summary database. Choosing this option will increase the size of the Super Summary database. Unchecked: Only summary information is stored in the Super Summary database. |
Update Summaries | Checked: Summary information is automatically added after you stop the rating/loading process. This does not update tiered rates. Unchecked: You must choose to update summaries or add to the super summary as a separate RateBill operation. |
Update Super Summary | Checked: The Super Summary information is automatically added after you stop the rating/loading process. Update Summaries must also be selected. Unchecked: You must choose to Add to Super Summary as a separate RateBill operation. |
Time Groups | Checked: The rating engine uses time groups (in addition to service number, service type, effective date, and usage type) to aggregate minute- or occurrence-based usage records. Unchecked: The rating engine uses only service number, service type, effective date, and usage type to aggregate minute- or occurrence-based usage records. |
Recycle Batch File Age | Enter the number days to display only the batch files created within that number of specified days. This field can also be updated in the RateBill Request Wizard. |
Enable use of InterLATA distance type | Checked: Uses the interLATA distance type for an interLATA call that originates and terminates in the same LATA, but that crosses state boundaries. Unchecked: The interLATA type does not get used for those calls. |
Enable Pass-Through OCN | Checked: If the OCN is in the UDR, the system uses that OCN when applying OCN Tier to Tier rating. Unchecked: The system uses the OCN from the NPANXX table when applying OCN Tier to Tier rating. |
Use Pricing Plan Groups | Checked: The system uses the pricing plan groups and their associated processing order to determine the usage charges. Unchecked: The system uses pricing plan categories to determine the usage charges. |
Fill City Names | Checked: The system includes the city name, if found. Unchecked: The system only includes the name of the city if it is in the usage record detail. |
Bypass Rating | Checked: If an incoming record has a cost attached, the system does not compute the charge, but accepts the charge from the UDR. Also, the system does not compute the charge on reload or re-rate. Unchecked: If an incoming record has a cost attached, the system computes the charge according to the pricing plan associated with that service number. |
Disable Distance Hunting | Checked: Checks only the distance type of the usage record for a rating method match. If none is found, the usage record recycles. Unchecked: Follows the hunting sequence within the rate plan. |
Thread Pool | Enter the maximum number of threads when loading usage records. |
Delete Thread pool | Enter the maximum number of threads when deleting usage records. |
Modify Effective Date | Checked: Ignores the Grace Period of a discontinued service number when it is reassigned. Unchecked: Usage records are loaded to the discontinued service number until the Grace Period has been met, even if the service number has been reassigned. |
Bypass Carib Call Type Change | Checked: If the terminating location is the Caribbean, Domestic 1+, Payphone, Directory Assistance and Roaming calls are changed to International calls. Unchecked: Caribbean calls are rated as Domestic calls. |
Don't Hunt Through User Defined Service Types | Checked: The system only looks for the user-defined service type, not for the service type that it was based on. Unchecked: If the system cannot find the user-defined service type, it searches through the base service type. |
Disable Service Number Hunt | Checked: If a service number is Equal Access (Local and Long Distance), 800 Dedicated, or EA Dedicated and is not found, the usage record recycles immediately. Unchecked: If a service number is not found, the system then searches further. For Equal Access the hunt sequence is Equal Access then Pay phone; Equal Access Dedicated then Pay phone then Equal Access; 800 Dedicated then 800.
|
Enable Total Occurrences Rating | Checked: The system collects the occurrence-based duration field amounts (Total Occurrence Rating method) to rate. Unchecked: Total Occurrence Rating method cannot be used to rate. |
Bypass Program Hunting For Local | Checked: Local calls (Usage Type 11, Local) will rate with the Local Override Pricing Plan, if possible. If not possible, the system will hunt to the Default Pricing Plan to rate. Unchecked: Local calls (Usage Type 11, Local) will hunt as follows: Local > IntraLata > Default. |
Recycle Pt to Pt without Pt to Pt RPD | Checked: If a call is a Pt-to-Pt call, but the rate plan detail does not use the Pt-to-Pt rate method, the call recycles for Recycle Reason 2600. Unchecked: If a call is a Pt-to-Pt call, but the rate plan detail does not use the Pt-to-Pt rating method, the call is rated with the default rating method. |
Treat US Territories as States | Checked: Puerto Rico, American Virgin Islands, Guam, and the North Mariana Islands are treated as States for rating purposes. That is, they are treated as though they were actual US states. Unchecked: Puerto Rico, American Virgin Islands, Guam, and the North Mariana Islands calls are treated as International calls. |
