To view rating methods:
From the Applications menu, select Product Management > Rating Methods. The Rating Methods window is displayed.

The Rating Methods window contains the following information.
ID
Unique number that identifies the rating method. The system assigns the appropriate ID. Rating Methods with IDs less than 10000 are maintained by IDI.
Name
(required)
Name of the Rating Method.
Enter a name that you want to see in the Rating Method drop-down list in Rate Details.
Tier Type
Usage tier type.
Select the appropriate Tier Type from the list:
Total: Total tier type uses grand totals of the usage to determine the rate the usage is charged. Cannot be used with By Time of Day Group.
Stepped: Stepped tier type uses running totals of the usage to determine which tier to use when rating the usage. Cannot be used for percentage-based usage types. Cannot be used for both legs of a 2-legged call.
Default = Total.
Calculation Type
How usage is calculated.
Select the appropriate Calculation Type from the list:
Count: Each usage record is counted.
Sum: The usage records' duration fields are added together.
Default = Count.
Duration Type
Length of time used to calculate usage.
Select the appropriate Duration Type from the list:
Seconds: The duration fields of usage records with seconds-based usage types are added together. The tier value that you enter in the rate detail specifies the number of seconds.
Minutes: The duration fields of usage records with seconds-based usage types are added together. The tier value that you enter in the rate detail specifies the number of minutes.
Occurrences: The duration fields of usage records with occurrence-based usage types are added together. The tier value that you enter in the rate detail specifies the number of occurrences/clicks/uses.
Default = Seconds.
CustID or UsgSvcID
How usage is grouped for tiering.
Select the appropriate type from the list:
CustID: The usage is grouped by customer account for tiering.
UsgSvcID: The usage is grouped by service number for tiering.
Default = CustID.
By Usage Type
Whether usage is grouped by Usage Type for tiering or not.
Yes (Checked): In addition to grouping by CustID or UsgSvcID, the usage is grouped by Usage Type for tiering.
No (Unchecked): The usage is not grouped by Usage Type for tiering.
By Service Type
Whether usage is grouped by Service Type for tiering or not.
Yes (Checked): In addition to grouping by CustID or UsgSvcID, the usage is grouped by Service Type for tiering.
No (Unchecked): The usage is not grouped by Service Type for tiering.
By Distance Type
Whether usage is grouped by Distance Type for tiering or not.
Yes (Checked): In addition to grouping by CustID or UsgSvcID, the usage is grouped by Distance Type for tiering.
No (Unchecked): The usage is not grouped by Distance Type for tiering.
By TOD Group
Whether usage is grouped by Time of Day Group for tiering or not.
Yes (Checked): In addition to grouping by CustID or UsgSvcID, the usage is grouped by Time of Day Group for tiering. Cannot be used with Total tier type.
Notes:
Cannot be used with Total tier type.
If you select this option, you must select Time Groups in Admin Console > Back Office Settings > Rating.
No (Unchecked): The usage is not grouped by Time of Day Group for tiering.
