Overview
The MIN Inventory function provides you with the capability to maintain a list of all of the MINs (Mobile Identification Number) that you use for your CDMA/TDMA wireless service. Your company must be licensed for MIN Inventory in order to use this function.
The main purpose of this function is to manage your MINs, as well as forecast and report upon the utilization of these MINs. The system tracks the assignment and availability of your company’s MINs and ensures that the same MIN is never used simultaneously by two different services. While an item can exist in one or more inventories, it must be unique within any given inventory.
Setup
Before MINs can be associated with an inventory, the following items must exist:
Inventory Class
System-defined Inventory Classes are used to differentiate between inventories that require different information and utilize different business rules. If you are licensed for MIN Inventory, a MIN Inventory class is created during installation.
Inventories
Within your MIN inventory class, you can create multiple MIN inventories to organize your MINs. See MIN Inventories.
Inventory Group Types and Inventory Groups.
Inventory group types are used to classify your MIN inventory groups by type. You can create Inventory Groups under these group types to further classify your MIN inventories. See Inventory Groups.
Inventory Statuses
Every item in inventory is assigned a system-defined status, which identifies the current state of that inventory item (available, assigned, retired, reserved, etc.). See MIN Inventory Statuses.
MIN Blocks
MIN blocks contain the MINs that are used by your company. MINs are grouped in blocks of up to 10,000. See MIN Blocks.
Service Specifications in Product Catalog
In the Product Catalog, you specify whether or not a service type utilizes inventoried MINs and if so, which inventory it uses. See Product Management - Services.
