MIN Inventories

You can create multiple MIN inventories to organize your different sets of MINs. The MIN inventories typically correspond to the wireless service types (Wireless, Paging, Wireless PDAs, etc.). Within each MIN inventory, MINs are tracked and managed in blocks of up to 10,000 (by NPANXX). For each MIN inventory, you must create the MIN blocks that house the MINs for that inventory.

When you add a wireless service to a customer account, the service specification within the Product Catalog indicates which wireless inventory is used to locate the available MINs. When displaying MINs, the system specifies the inventory to which the MIN belongs.

To view the MIN Inventories that are currently defined in the system:

1. On the Applications menu, click Inventory Management > MIN Inventories > Inventories. This displays the MIN Inventories window.  

   The MIN Inventories window provides the following information:

   Inventory

   Name of the MIN inventory.

   Disallow Reassignment

   Identifies whether or not the MINs in this inventory can be reassigned to another customer after they are returned to inventory: Yes - MINs in this inventory cannot be reassigned. They are retired when they are no longer in use (inventory status changes from Assigned to Retired). No - MINs in this inventory can be reassigned. They become available for reassignment when they are no longer in use (inventory status changes from Assigned to Available).

From the MIN Inventories window, you can perform the following functions:

• Add a new MIN inventory by right-clicking anywhere within the MIN Inventories window and selecting New. The Add MIN Inventory window is displayed. See Adding a MIN Inventory for more information.

• Edit an existing MIN inventory by double-clicking on the desired inventory or right-clicking on the desired inventory and selecting Edit. The Edit MIN Inventory window is displayed. See Editing a MIN Inventory for more information.

• Delete an existing MIN inventory by right-clicking on the desired inventory and selecting Delete. See Deleting a MIN Inventory for more information.
