Not all service types use the E911 Information tab.
As of version 23.10, the information on this tab is read-only.
The E911 Information tab lets you add the E911 address and other E911 information associated with the service. The E911 information must be sent to the Automatic Location Information (ALI) database. This is done using the Create E911 Record button as described in Managing E911 Records below.
This tab provides the following information:
E911 Address
Service Address
This list contains the service addresses that are defined on the Service Addresses tab.
Address 1 and 2
Street information for selected service address.
City / State / Zip
City, State, and Zip Code for selected service address.
Status
Approved, Not Approved, Retired, or Pending Approval.
MSAG Validated
Indicates whether or not the service address was validated against the MSAG table:
If the service address was successfully validated, this field contains the text "MSAG on MM/DD/YYYY", where MM/DD/YYYY is the date the validation was performed.
If the service address was not validated or it failed MSAG validation, this field contains the text "Not MSAG Validated".
E911 Information
E911 Type of Service
Helps ensure that the correct Public safety Answering Position (PSAP) is contacted when an emergency call is received by the switch.
Select the E911 Type of Service from the drop-down list to override the default value.
E911 Class of Service
Specifies what kind of service is making the emergency call, such as Residence, Business, Centrex, and so on. This information is required. E911 information is sent to the ALI database.
Select the E911 Class of Service from the drop-down list to override the default value.
Managing E911 Records
The Create E911 Record button on the E911 Information Tab opens the Create E911 Record window. This window lets you insert a new service number/service address combination to E911 batch Details, make changes to an existing combination, delete an existing combination, unlock a service number to be maintained by another carrier, and migrate a service number from another carrier. These options are selected via the E911 Function Code drop-down list.
To add a record to the E911 Batch Details:
Select one of the following from the drop-down list:
Insert: Adds the E911 Batch Detail record as a new service number/service address combination.
Change: Makes a change to an existing service number/service address combination.
Delete: Removes the service number/service address combination from the ALI database.
Unlock: Releases (ports out) the service number for another carrier to maintain.
Migrate: Accepts responsibility to maintain (ports in) the service number from another carrier.
Click Valid E911 Record? to verify that the information will create a valid E911 record.
This displays either a Record Valid message or a Record Invalid message.
Click OK to acknowledge the message or warning. If the record is not valid, make the necessary adjustments on the E911 Information tab and repeat the above steps to validate.
Click Create E911 Record. This displays the confirmation message.
Click OK to acknowledge.
