You can create multiple service number inventories to organize different sets of service numbers. Within each inventory, service numbers can also be tracked and managed in blocks of 1000 (by NPANXX / X). (See Service Number Blocks)
Notes:
Service number blocks received from another carrier may contain fewer than 1000 service numbers.
When you add a service to a customer account, the service specification within the Product Catalog indicates which inventory is used to locate the available service numbers. When displaying service numbers within a block, the system specifies the inventory to which the service number belongs.
Service numbers assigned to a customer with the same service type are required to be unique over the specified time frame (start date to end date).
To view the Service Number Inventories currently defined in the system, select Applications > Inventory Management > Service Number Inventories > Inventories. This displays the Service Number Inventories window.

The Service Number Inventories window provides the following information:
Inventory
Name of the service number inventory.
Disallow Reassignment
Identifies whether or not the service numbers in this inventory can be reassigned to another customer after they are returned to inventory:
Yes: Service numbers in this inventory cannot be reassigned. They are retired when they are no longer in use (inventory status changes from Assigned to Retired). This is often used for circuits that are not used for other customers.
No: Service numbers in this inventory can be reassigned. They become available for reassignment when they are no longer in use (inventory status changes from Assigned to Available).
Allow Additions to Inventory
Identifies whether or not users can add new service numbers to this inventory, via the New Customer Wizard, Add Service(s) & Feature(s) Wizard, Change Service Wizard, and Duplicate Service Wizard.
Yes: Service numbers can be added to this inventory via the wizards.
No: Service numbers cannot be added to this inventory via the wizards.
Note
Service numbers added to inventory via the wizards are NOT added to service number blocks and are not included in NRUF reporting. Therefore, Allow Additions to Inventory and Requires NRUF Reporting CANNOT be enabled for the same inventory. You can select one or the other, but not both.
Requires NRUF Reporting
Identifies whether or not NRUF Reporting is required for this inventory:
Yes: Service numbers in this inventory are included in the NRUF Reports.
No: Service numbers in this inventory are not included in the NRUF Reports.
Notes:
Allow Additions to Inventory and Requires NRUF Reporting CANNOT be enabled for the same inventory. You can select one or the other, but not both.
Since a service number should only be reported upon in an NRUF report (typically Equal Access or Wireless service types), an exception report is provided that identifies service numbers that appear in more than one inventory that requires NRUF reporting.
The following menu options are available from the Service Number Inventories window:
New | Adds a new service number inventory. See Adding a Service Number Inventory. |
