NRUF sub-categories are additional system-defined categories that further define the status of certain service numbers. The following is a list of NRUF sub-categories provided by the system with the inventory status and NRUF category that corresponds to each sub-category:

Soft Dial Tone Numbers | Administrative | Administrative | Service number only allows restricted dialing, such as only being able to call emergency services. |
Ported-Out Numbers | Ported-Out | Assigned | Service number belongs to your company, but is assigned to a customer that utilizes a different carrier. NRUF Sub-Category is automatically set to Ported-Out Numbers when a service number's inventory status is set to Ported-Out. |
Dealer Number Pool | Intermediate | Intermediate | Service number belongs to your company, but is allocated to a retail dealer to sell on your company's behalf. |
Test Numbers | Administrative | Administrative | Service number is only used for network testing purposes. |
Employee / Official Numbers | Administrative | Administrative | Service number is used internally by your company. |
Local Routing Numbers | Administrative | Administrative | Service number is assigned to a switch for routing purposes in a permanent local number portability environment. |
Temporary Local Directory Numbers | Administrative | Administrative | Service number is assigned by a wireless provider to a roaming subscriber, on a per-call basis, for incoming call setup purposes. |
ESRD/ESRK | Administrative | Administrative | Service number is used to route E911 calls to the correct PSAP (Public Safety Answering Point), when the call originates from a wireless switch. |
