NRUF (Numbering Resource Utilization/Forecast) Categories are system-defined categories that are derived from a service number's inventory status. These categories are used in the NRUF reports that provide service number utilization and forecasting information.
Service numbers that are NOT included in the NRUF reports are assigned the Do Not Report category, regardless of their inventory status. This applies to ported-in service numbers and those service numbers that reside in an inventory that is marked as not requiring NRUF reporting.

Received numbers are included in a separate column in the NRUF Utilization 3 report. This report identifies how each block of 1000 service numbers for non-rural, primary carriers is used or not used.
The following defines the NRUF Categories provided by the system:
NRUF Category | Description |
Do Not Report | Service number is not included in the NRUF reports.

Available | Service number is available for assignment. |
Reserved | Service number is held for future use by a specific customer. |
Assigned | Service number is currently in use or pending an order. |
Aging | Service number is disconnected, but not currently available for reassignment. |
Intermediate | Service number is reassigned to another carrier, but not via the numbering pool administrator. |
Administrative | Service number is used internally for administrative and/or operational purposes, such as test numbers. |
