Adding a Service Number Inventory

In order to add a new service number inventory, Application > CostGuard Client > Inventory Management > Service Number Inventory > Inventories > New must be enabled in your Permission Profile.

To add a new service number inventory:

  1. In the Service Number Inventories window, right-click anywhere in the window and select New. This displays the Add/Edit Service Number Inventory window.

  2. Enter the required information as described below:

    Inventory

    (required)

    Name of the new service number inventory.

    General Options

    Disallow Reassignment

    Prevents numbers from from being reassigned to a different customer.

    Checked: Service numbers are retired when they are no longer in use (inventory status changes from Assigned to Retired). The retired service numbers cannot be reassigned.

    Unchecked: Service numbers become available for reassignment when they are no longer in use (inventory status changes from Assigned to Available).

    Default = Unchecked.

    Allow Additions to Inventory

    Service numbers can be added to this inventory via the New Customer Wizard, Add Service(s) & Feature(s) Wizard, Change Service Wizard, and Duplicate Service Wizard.

    Checked: Service numbers can be added to this inventory via the wizards.

    Unchecked: Service numbers cannot be added to this inventory via the wizards.

    Note

    Service numbers added to inventory via the wizards are NOT added to service number blocks and are not included in NRUF reporting. Therefore, you cannot select this check box and Requires NRUF Reporting. You can select one or the other, but not both.

    Default = Unchecked.

    Requires NRUF Reporting

    Service numbers are included in NRUF Reports.

    Checked: Service numbers in this inventory are included in the NRUF Reports.

    Unchecked: Service numbers in this inventory are included in the NRUF Reports.

    Note

    If you select this check box, you cannot select Allow Additions to Inventory. You can select one or the other, but not both.

    Default = Unchecked.

    Reservations / Aging

    Residential Standard Aging Interval

    Number of days residential service numbers must age before they can be reassigned.

    Residential Port-In Aging Interval

    Number of days residential ported-in service numbers must age before they are returned to the service number owner and statuses are changed to Not Available.

    Business Standard Aging Interval

    Number of days business service numbers must age before they can be reassigned.

    Business Port-In Aging Interval

    Number of days business ported-in service numbers must age before they are returned to the service number owner and statuses are changed to Not Available.

    Reservation Interval

    Number of days a service number can be reserved before it is made available for assignment.

  1. Click Save. This updates the Service Number Inventories window with the new inventory you just added.
