The Markup Cost % rating method allows you to base the charge of usage on a markup of the cost to your company. The IDI platform figures the charge for a usage record after it has calculated the cost. This cost is based on either the Wholesale Pricing Plan assigned to the service number or the cost included in the usage detail record. If a Wholesale pricing plan is assigned to the service number, the IDI platform uses that cost to calculate the charge amount. If the cost cannot be determined from a Wholesale Pricing Plan, the IDI platform uses the cost contained in the usage detail record. Contact your IDI Project/Implementation Manager for more information.
You must set up the Rate Details to include the markup percentage for the charge.
For example, you want to mark up the cost of usage by 5% during the day, 4.75% for evening, and 4.5% for nights. You set up the Rate Details with the following information.

The system first computes the cost (if appropriate) and then the charge is computed as follows:
Cost + (Cost * %) = Charge Amount
The system does not look at any information in the Location field, the Additional 1, 2, and 3 Amount fields, or Initial and Additional Increment fields.
Negative values are invalid.
If the cost is less than or equal to 0, the charge is 0.
This rating method is ignored during Wholesale Rating.
