The OCN Tier rating method uses groups (tiers) of OCNs (Operating Company Numbers) to conveniently rate based on where a call originates and terminates. Each tier usually uses a different amount to rate.
As an example, calls to or from OCNs 0121, 9104, 7229 are charged $.05 per minute. These OCNs are grouped under OCN Tier “NY” (or “A” or a name that makes sense for your company). Calls to or from OCNs 0169, 0176, 9739 are charged $.10 per minute. These OCNs are grouped under “PA”. Calls between these two groups would be charged the sum of the two amounts ($.15 per minute).
To accomplish this, the following needs to be done:
Create OCN Tier Types as described in the Admin Console chapter. See OCN Tier Types.
Create OCN Tiers as described in the Table Management chapter. See OCN Tiers.
Create Rate Plans using the OCN Tier rating method, entering the name of the tier in the Location field. See Rates and Pricing Plans.
Create a Pricing Plan for using one of the Rate Plans as Leg A (for the OCN Tier Rating Originating OCN) and one as Leg B (for the OCN Tier Rating Terminating OCN). See Setting Up Plans to Rate Usage.
The tiers can be grouped for display on invoices. To tell the system to display detail and summary information by OCN Tier, select OCN Tier Detail Info and OCN Tier Summary Info in Admin Console > XML Invoice Service > server > Invoice Format > format name > Configuration.
