Extended Exemption Maintenance is generally performed by Info Directions; in which case this window is read-only.

The Extended Exemption Maintenance window contains the following information.
Tax Type | The tax type is derived from a tax table and includes the primary groupings of city, county, federal, regional and state. |
Description | The name of the specific extended exemption, such as E911 surcharge, sales taxes, gross receipts tax, etc. |
If you are licensed for tax management, you can modify these exemptions.
Right-click a row to view the drop-down list.
Click Edit to modify an existing exemption. The Edit dialog box is displayed, populated with the default data.

Select a Tax Type and enter a Description. Click Save to save your changes, or Cancel to close the dialog without making changes.
To Delete an extended exemption, click on the row for the exemption and click Delete.
To create a New exemption, click New. The New Extended Tax Exemption dialog box is displayed.

Select a Tax Type and enter a Description. Click Save to save the new exemption, or Cancel to close the dialog without saving.
Every tax needs to be associated with an exemption. This association is made on the Edit State Tax or Edit Federal Tax window. Again, this function is generally performed by Info Directions and is only available on a read-only basis.
At the Edit State Tax or Edit Federal Tax window:
Click the down arrow to the right of the Exemption Classification field to view available tax types and descriptions. You can also click
to see the window, Select an Extended Exemption.
The drop-down list and the Extended Exemption window are populated with the data from the Extended Exemption Maintenance window.
Select a row from either the drop-down list or the Extended Exemption window and click Save to continue, or Cancel to return to the Tax Management Window.
