Defining Account State Processing Rules

Rules for governing if and how the IDI platform updates accounts are based on the Account State. These rules are configured in the Edit Account State Processing Rules configuration dialog. To access this dialog, you must have the Application > CostGuard Client > Customer Management > Settings > Automated Account State Processing permission enabled in Administration Console.

  • In IDI Desktop Client, select Applications > Customer Management > Settings > Automated Account State Processing. This opens the Edit Account State Processing Rules window which contains the current settings.

Account States

The configurable Account States are listed in the top portion of the Edit Account State Processing Rules window. To configure the rules for an Account State:

  • Right-click the Account State and select Edit. This opens the Edit [state] Account State Rules window.

    New Account Status

    Account Status you want accounts changed to when they are in this Account State.

    This list includes all Account Statuses maintained in Data Management.

    Processing Enabled

    Select this check box to have accounts in this state changed.

    Default Change Reason

    Change reason applied to the account if an appropriate service-level change reason cannot be found.

    This list includes all Change Reasons maintained in Data Management.

    Default Change Description

    Change description used if an appropriate service-level change reason cannot be found.

    Non-Exempt Statuses

    List of account statuses to be changed if an account is in the selected Account State.

    Use the right arrow to move an account status from the non-exempt list to the exempt list.

    Exempt Statuses

    List of account statuses that do not change if an account is in the selected Account State. For example, if accounts having the Collections Account Status should NOT be changed to the new status, it should be in the Exempt Status list.

    Use the left arrow to move an account status from the exempt list to the non‑exempt list.

  • Click OK.

    Note

    Clicking OK saves the changes temporarily to the account states list in the Edit Account state Processing Rules window where you must click Save to save all the changes in that window.

Account-level Features

The Account-Level Feature section lets you specify how account-level features are treated during the Account State Processing scheduled job.

Note

This applies to disconnect or reconnect actions only.

Determining Account State

Specifies whether account-level feature statuses are considered when determining the Account State.

  • Ignore when determining Account State: The status of the account-level features is not used to determine the Account State. Only the statuses of services are used.

  • Determine Active vs. Disconnected: If any account-level feature is active, do not set the Account State to Disconnected.

Account Disconnect Handling

Specifies whether to disconnect account-level features.

  • Ignore: Do not disconnect account-level features.

  • Create Disconnect Order: Create a Disconnect order to disconnect account-level features.

  • Create Follow-Up: Create an Automate Account Disconnect follow-up and assign to the user (or group) selected in Disconnect Follow-Up User.

Disconnect Follow-Up User

To open the Select Users dialog, click the ellipsis button. Select a User or Group from the list and click OK.

Note

This field is available only when Create Follow-Up is selected in Account Disconnect Handling.

Account Reconnect Handling

Specifies whether to reconnect disconnected account-level features.

  • Ignore: Do not reconnect account-level features.

  • Create Follow-Up: Create an Automate Account Reconnect follow-up and assign to the user (or group) selected in Reconnect Follow-Up User.

Reconnect Follow-Up User

To open the Select Users dialog, click the ellipsis button. Select a User or Group from the list and click OK.

Note

This field is available only when Create Follow-Up is selected in Account Reconnect Handling.

Date of Account Update

The Date of Account Update field determines the date to use when updating Customer Change Reason records or setting Disconnect/Suspend dates on an account.

Select one of the following:

  • Use Service Date: The system uses the date from the most recent service in the associated state. This is the default value.

  • Use Today's Date: The system uses the current date, regardless of any dates on the account's services.
