To configure settings for CPNI data:
Go to Applications > CPNI > CPNI Configuration Settings.

Complete these areas of the configuration window.
Required CPNI Data
Check the boxes next to the information that you want to be required for every customer.
Account Password | generally required |
Authorized Users | generally optional |
Authorized User Password | generally optional |
Security Question & Answer | generally required |
PIN Rules
Select a PIN length.
Pin Length | Enter a number within the guidelines set by your company (between 4 and 25; default is 4). |
# of Retry Attempts | Enter a number within the guidelines set by your company. (A value of zero means unlimited attempts.) |
Password Format
Select a range for the Password length. Recommended value is 4 digits.
Minimum Length | >1 character |
Maximum Length | <50 characters |
Security Questions
A Security Question can be asked of customers to authenticate their identity in case they have forgotten their password. They are stored in the system along with the correct answer.
Default questions are supplied by IDI; Company questions are questions that can be created by an administrator.
Enabling or Disabling an Existing Security Question
Right-click the question and select Enable to make it available
OR
select Disable to make it unavailable.
A disabled security question is displayed as False in the Enabled column; an enabled question is displayed as True.
Note
As soon as a question is in use, it cannot be removed nor disabled.
Creating a new Security Question
To add a security question, right click in the Question area and click Add to display the Add CPNI Security Question window.

Enter the question and click OK.
Removing a Security Question
To remove a security question, right click the question and click Remove.
Note
You can only remove a security question with a Company owner (not a default question).
Account Types
In the Account Type pane of the CPNI Configuration Settings form, you can select the predefined account types for which CPNI data will have to be collected.
Note
Every time that you save an account type change, you need to clear the system cache. (Tools > Clear Local Cache)
Adding an Account Type
To add an account type, right-click in the white space under Account Types and click Add to display the Choose Account types window.

Select a Type and click OK. (To select multiple types, hold the Shift key and click the Types you want).
Removing an Account Type
To remove an account type, right-click the Type and select Remove from the drop-down list.

Allow Custom Subscriber Security Question
Check this box if you want to authorize creation of a Security Question by a subscriber.
Always show the CPNI PIN Verification screen when a PIN exists
Check this box if you want the CPNI PIN Verification screen to be displayed when a PIN exists even if the user does not have CPNI permissions.
