Assign a Ported-In Service

To assign a ported-in service:

1. Right-click on the desired service and select Assign (Port-In). This displays the Port-In Service Number window.

   

2. Enter the Port-In Service Number information as described below:

   Service Number	Enter the service number you are porting in from another carrier.
   Ported From	From the drop-down list, select the carrier that owns this service number.

3. Click OK. This displays the New Service window and populates the Service Number field with the ported-in service number.

4. On each tab in the New Service window, enter any additional information that pertains to this service. See Assigning/Editing a Service - Main Tab, Assigning/Editing a Service - Contact Information Tab, Assigning/Editing a Service - Service Addresses Tab, Assigning/Editing a Service - Tax Information Tab, and Assigning/Editing a Service - Port Requests tab for a detailed description of the input fields provided in each tab in the New Service window.

5. If you want to edit the information associated with the displayed service number, click the Actions button and select Edit Inventoried Service Number. This displays the Edit Inventoried Service Number window. See Editing an Inventoried Service Number for more information.

   Note

   The Actions button only appears when you are assigning a service number to an inventoried service. The Edit Inventoried Service Number option is only enabled if Application > CostGuard Client > Inventory Management > Service Number Inventory > Service Numbers > Edit is enabled in your Permission Profile AND the displayed service number is actually in inventory. This option is not enabled, if you select Add New Service Number To Inventory and enter a service number that is not yet in inventory (order must be submitted first).

6. Click Save. This displays the new service in the Orders portion of the Add Services window.

   Note

   The ported-in service number is immediately added to the inventory assigned to this service. You do not have to wait for the order to be submitted and completed. If the order is cancelled, the ported-in service number remains in inventory.
