Adding/Editing Rate Details

To add (or modify) Rate Details:

From the Applications menu, select Product Management > Rates. This displays the Rates window.
Right-click an existing entry and select View Rate Details. This displays the Rate Details window for the selected Rate Plan.
You can also access this window from Pricing Plans.
Right-click and select Add to add rate details (or select a row to modify existing rate details and right-click and select Edit).

Enter rate details.

General Information
Detail ID	Unique system-generated number that identifies the rate detail record.
Effective Date	Date the rate detail record is effective. Select the check box to select the default date, or select a different date from the calendar. Clear the check box to leave the date field empty. To use date-sensitive rating, the effective date is required and the *RPD Effective Dates* check box must be selected in Administration Console > Business Rules > Backoffice Settings > Rating. See Date-Sensitive Rating.
Amount	Per-minute rate to be associated with the time of day. This rate is based on the initial time, as defined in Pricing Plan Details. Notes: This field is available only if the *Use single amount rate detail form* check box is checked. If you are using a User-defined Rating Method that has a Duration Type of Seconds, the Amount is the per-second rate.
Surcharge	If applicable, the surcharge associated with the rate. This surcharge amount is in addition to the surcharge amount entered in the Pricing Plan Details surcharge field (if any). Surcharges are applied per call.
Min Call Charge	Minimum amount charged for a call. For example, calls normally rounded to $0.00 are charged the amount entered here, such as .01 ($0.01).
Max Call Charge	Limit set on the amount a call is charged. For example, calls can be $.10/minute up to a maximum call charge of $1.00 for a call.
Rate Seconds	Number of seconds in the rate. The default is 60 seconds. Note 60 seconds must be used for occurrence-based rating.
Is Regional	Select this box to indicate regional pricing applies.
Details
Distance Type	Distance type for the associated rate. Notes: The Distance Type for Canada is Interstate. (The calls are taxed at the international rate.) The Distance Type for the Caribbean and Mexico is International. See the note below regarding calls to Mexico.
Rating Method	Rating method for the rate plan. The choices are Pt-To-Pt (no longer used), Area, Term Area, Orig Area, SID, CIC, LATA/OCN, LATA, NPA, State, Mileage, Country/Region, Country, Dialed Digits, Occurrences, Minutes, Total Occurrences, Total Count, Markup Cost %, OCN Tier to Tier, OCN Tier, and Default. See Rating Method Definitions.
Location	Location parameter that corresponds to the rating method. If a rating method of Default is checked, the location field becomes a comment and no location values need to be entered. See Rating Method Definitions.
Criteria Type	Type of additional criteria for the rate plan. Currently, you can choose CIC, OCN Tier, State, or none (blank). If you choose CIC, OCN Tier, or State, you must enter a Criteria Value. See Additional Criteria. Does not apply to wireless.
Criteria Value	Value of the Criteria Type. Enter the CIC if a CIC Criteria Type is selected. Enter the OCN Type name (uppercase) if OCN Tier Criteria Type is selected. Enter the 2-character state designation if State Criteria Type is selected. See Additional Criteria. Does not apply to wireless.
Override Settings
Initial Incr. (Initial Increment)	Amount of time applied to the initial call rate. Subsequent time may be charged at an additional rate. This overrides the Initial Incr. entered in the Pricing Plan Details. The IDI platform supports per-second rating. When using Separate Local Per Minute vs. Per call Usage, this field (or the equivalent field in the Pricing Plan Detail) must have a value in order for local usage to be reported as Per Minute or Per Call.
Additional. Incr. (Additional Increment)	Amount of time applied to the call rate after the initial time period is extended. The rates associated with this time period are defined in the Rate Details. This overrides the Additional Incr. entered in the Pricing Plan Details. The IDI platform supports per-second rating. When using Separate Local Per Minute vs. Per call Usage, if this field (or the equivalent field in the Pricing Plan Detail) has a value, usage is reported as Per Minute. If this field does not have a value, usage is reported as Per Call.
Time Group	This overrides the Time Group entered in the Pricing Plan Details.
Initial	These amounts are applied to the Initial Increment portion of a call. Separate rates can be entered for Amount 1 (day), Amount 2 (evening), and Amount 3 (night). Note These fields are not available if the Use single amount rate detail form check box is checked.
Additional Amounts	These amounts are applied to the Additional Increment portion of a call. Separate rates can be entered for Amount 1 (day), Amount 2 (evening), and Amount 3 (night). Note These fields are not available if the Use single amount rate detail form check box is checked.

Note
The IDI platform uses the NPANXX to rate calls to Mexico. You can use a Rating Method of NPA or Dialed Digits. Or, you can set up Mexico rates with a Distance Type of International, a Rating Method of Country, and a location of 52 plus the Band number, e.g., 52 = all of Mexico, 52.1 = Band 1, 52.2 = Band 2, etc., if your company's system has been set up to Use CountryBand for Mexico in Admin Console.

Click Save.
Notes:

A/B Leg Rate Plan Details

Right-click the pricing plan details and select the appropriate Leg Rate Plan Details.
This displays the Rate Details form.
