To access Rate Details:
From the Applications menu, select Product Management > Rates. The Rates window is displayed.

Right-click an existing entry and select View Rate Details (or double-click an existing entry). The Rate Details for the selected rate plan displayed.

The Rate Details window contains the following information.
Use single amount rate detail form
Checked: Single amounts entered in the Rate Details window are automatically entered into all of amount fields. (See Amounts below.)
Unchecked: Six amount fields can be used to creating varying charges for initial and additional durations based on time of day.
Detail ID
Unique system-generated number that identifies the rate detail record.
Distance Type
Distance type for the associated rate.
Notes:
The Distance type for Canada is Interstate. (The calls are taxed at the international rate.)
The Distance Type for the Caribbean and Mexico is International. See the note under Rate Details regarding calls to Mexico.
Rating Method
Rating method for the rate plan. The available choices are Area, Term Area, Orig Area, SID, CIC, LATA/OCN, LATA, NPA, State, Mileage, Country/Region, Country, Dialed Digits, Occurrences, Minutes, Total Occurrences, Total Count, Markup Cost %, OCN Tier to Tier, OCN Tier, and Default.
Location
Location parameter that corresponds to the rating method. If the rating method is Default, the location field is a comment and no location values are required.
Criteria Type
Type of additional criteria for the rate plan. Current options: CIC, OCN Tier, State, or none (blank).
Criteria Value
Value of the Criteria Type.
Amount
or
Init. Amount 1, Init. Amount 2, Init. Amount 3, Addl. Amount 1, Addl. Amount 2, Addl. Amount 3
Per-minute rate associated with the time of day. This rate is based on the initial time, as defined in Pricing Plan Details. Separate rates can be entered for Amount 1 (day), Amount 2 (evening), and Amount 3 (night) and also for Initial and Additional.
Notes:
If the Use single amount rate detail form check box is checked, only one column, Amount, is displayed.
If you are using a User-defined Rating Method that has a Duration Type of Seconds, the Amount is the per-second rate.
Surcharge
If applicable, the surcharge associated with the rate. This surcharge amount is in addition to the surcharge amount entered in the Pricing Plan Details surcharge field (if any). Surcharges are applied per call.
Effective Date
Date the rate detail record is effective.
Select the check box to select the date displayed, or select a date from the calendar. The check box is checked automatically. Clear the check box to leave the date field empty.
Note
To use date-sensitive rating, the effective date is required and the RPD Effective Dates must be selected in Admin Console > Business Rules > Backoffice Settings > Rating.
Min Call Charge
Minimum amount that is charged for a call. For example, calls normally rounded to $0.00 are charged the amount listed here, such as .01 ($0.01).
Max Call Charge
Cap set on the amount a call is charged. For example, calls can be $.10/minute up to a maximum call charge of $1.00 for a call.
Rate Secs
Number of seconds in the rate. The default amount is 60 seconds.
Note
Occurrence-based rating uses the default 60 seconds.
Init. Incr.
Amount of time that is applied to the initial call rate. Subsequent time may be charged at an additional rate. The rates associated with this time period are defined in the Rate Details.
This Initial Time overrides the Initial Time entered in the Pricing Plan Details. The IDI platform supports per-second rating.Addl. Incr.
Amount of time that is applied to the call rate after the initial time period is exceeded. The rates associated with this time period are defined in the Rate Details.
This Additional Time overrides the Additional Time entered in the Pricing Plan Details. The IDI platform supports per-second rating.Time Group
Time Group used to determine the rates for this rate detail. This Time Group overrides the Time Group entered in the Pricing Plan Details.
To view a Single Amount View of the Rate Details, make sure that the Use Single Amount Rate Detail Form check box is checked on the Rate Plan page.
Note
The Single Amount View is a keystroke-saving feature. It allows you to enter in a single amount, and it automatically populates the entered value into all of the time period fields (e.g., initial amount 1, 2, 3, etc.).
To enter different rates for initial amount 1, 2, 3, etc., time periods, make sure that the Use Single Amount Rate Detail Form check box is not checked.
Note
If you entered rate information that is different for the different time periods, or different rates for initial and additional times, DO NOT make changes to any rates with Use Single Amount Rate Detail Form checked. Making changes in this view changes all rates in the rate plan to be a single rate.
The following options are available from the shortcut menu:

Opens an empty Import/Export Rate Details window for the selected rate plan. (Right-click a rate plan to access this menu.)

Opens an Import/Export Rate Details window populated with the rate details of the selected rate plan. (Right-click a rate plan to access this menu.)

Opens an empty Import/Export Rate Details window for the selected rate plan. (Right-click in a rate details window to access this menu.)

Opens an Import/Export Rate Details window populated with the rate details of the selected rate plan. (Right-click in a rate details window to access this menu.)

Copy to Clipboard copies the contents of the Import/Export table to the Clipboard.
Paste from Clipboard pastes the contents of the Clipboard to the Import/Export table.
Append adds the rate details that are listed in the Import/Export table to the Rate Details of the selected rate plan. Existing records are not overwritten.
Overwrite replaces existing rate details with those listed in the Import/Export table if the detail IDs match. Rate details in the Import/Export table whose detail IDs do not match IDs in the existing Rate Details are not added, an error is displayed and you have the opportunity to correct the errors.

Import populates the Rate Details with the records listed in the Import/Export table.

Export populates the Import/Export table with the Rate Details that are stored in the database.
If you have made changes and have not clicked Import, click Export to revert back to the original details.
If you had opened an empty Import/Export table (selected Import from a submenu) and then want to use the existing Rate Details, click Export to populate the table.
CTRL+C
Copies the selected records in the Import/Export table to the Clipboard.
Example: You want to copy only 20 records from a Rate plan that contains 100 records. Open the Import/Export window of the “from” Rate plan. Select the desired records (using SHIFT-click or CTRL-click as necessary). Press CTRL+C to copy the selected records to the Clipboard.
CTRL+V
Pastes contents of the Clipboard.
Example: You want to change all of the existing records from a Distance Type of Intrastate to Interstate. Select the Distance Type column, press CTRL-C to copy to Clipboard and Paste the column into another program, such as Excel. Change the Distance Type ID from 22 to 23. Select the cells and press CTRL+C. Return to the Import/Export window, select the Distance Type column and press CTRL+V. Click Import, the Distance Type changes in the Rate Details window.
CTRL+Z
Undoes changes in the Import/Export table as long as the table has not been imported.
