The IDI platform does not allow rate details within the same rate plan to have the same combination of Distance Type, Rating Method, and Location unless you configure date-sensitive rating. You can set up rates to be charged beginning on a certain date. In order for the system to know that you want to use date-sensitive rating, you must enable the RPD Effective Dates setting in Admin Console > Business Rules > Backoffice Settings > Rating. You must also enter a date in the Effective Date field on the Rate Details table.
If you want to set up new rates before the date when they become effective, add the new rates and enter the new effective date in the Effective Date field. The IDI platform will use the current rate until the date of the new rate. It checks the dates of the rates, the date of the call, and then uses the rate in effect at the time the call was made.
Rates are effective on midnight (00:00:00) of the date entered, while the old rate applies until 23:59:59 of the previous day.
