Setting Up a Local Per-Line Tax Product

To create a new per-line taxing product:

1. On the Applications menu, select Product Management > Product Catalog. The Product Catalog window is displayed.

2. Right-click on the folder you created and select New > Product. The New Product window is displayed.

3. Enter the Description of the tax product, for example, Local Per-Line Tax.

4. Leave the Retail Charge, CP Amount and Carrier Cost fields empty. There should not be a charge for this product. This product just tells the system to assess a per-line tax.

5. Select the appropriate Charge Cycle.

6. Select Local as the Charge Tax Class.

   Refer to Adding New Products for information on other input fields.

7. If the E911 tax is required for the local tax, access the Taxes tab and select the Subject to E911 check box.

   Note

   This product must be active and billable during the bill period or the tax is not applied.

8. Click Save to save this product.
