Searching MIN Inventories

The Search Inventories function lets you search your inventory for MINs that meet a specified set of search criteria. Search options are available that enable you to restrict your search to a specific MIN block, MIN block status, MIN, account number, inventory status, and etc.

To search a MIN inventory:

  1. On the Applications menu, select Inventory Management > MIN Inventories > Search Inventories. This displays the MIN Inventory Search window.  

    The MIN Inventory Search window provides the following input fields for entering your search criteria:

    MBI

    If you are searching for a specific MBI, enter the desired MBI.

    Note

    Wildcards may be used.

    MSN From

    and

    MSN To

    If you are searching for a specific range of MINs:

    • Enter the last 4 digits of the first MIN in the desired range in the MSN From field.

    • Enter the last 4 digits of the last MIN in the desired range in the MSN To field.

      If you are searching for all MINs that are greater than or equal to a particular MIN:

    • Enter the last 4 digits of that MIN in the Line From field.

    • Do not enter anything in the Line To field.

      If you are searching for all MINs that are less than or equal to a particular MIN:

    • Do not enter anything in the Line From field.

    • Enter the last 4 digits of that MIN in the Line To field.

      Note

      Wildcards may be used.

    Block Status

    If you are searching for a specific MIN block status, select the desired block status by checking the corresponding check box.

    Note

    You may select as many check boxes as you wish - none, some, all.

    Inventory

    If you only want to search a specific inventory, select the desired inventory by checking the corresponding check box.

    You may select as many check boxes as you wish - none, some, all.

    Inventory Group / Inventory Group Type

    If you are searching for a specific inventory group/group type combination, select the desired combination by checking the corresponding check box.

    Inventory Status

    Each item in an inventory is assigned a system-defined status, depending upon its stage in its life-cycle. If you are searching for a specific inventory status, select the desired inventory status by checking the corresponding check box.

    MIN

    If you are searching for a specific MIN, enter the desired MIN.

    Note

    Wildcards may be used.

    Account Number

    If you are searching for MINs that are assigned to a specific customer account number, enter the desired account number.

    Available Date

    If you are searching for service numbers with an availability date that falls within a specific range:

    • Enter the first date within the desired range in the From field.

    • Enter the last date within the desired range in the To field.

      If you are searching for all service numbers with an availability date that occurs on or after a particular date:

    • Enter the desired date in the From field.

    • Do not enter anything in the To field.

      If you are searching for all service numbers with an availability date that occurs on or before a particular date:

    • Do not enter anything in the From field.

    • Enter the desired date in the To field.

  1. Enter the desired search criteria and click Search. This displays the MIN Search Results window.

    Notes:

    • If no search criteria are specified, all inventoried MIN are returned in the search results.

    • The same MIN can belong to multiple inventory groups; therefore, the same MIN may appear in multiple rows in the search results. You have the capability to sort/filter the results by Inventory Group.

      The MIN Search Results window provides the following information:

    Inventory

    Name of the inventory to which this MIN belongs.

    MIN

    10-digit MIN (Mobile Identity Number) being reported upon.

    Service Number

    Service Number associated with this MIN.

    Inventory Status

    Current inventory status for this MIN.

    Inventory Group

    Name of the inventory group to which the MIN belongs.

    Status Change Date

    Date and time of the last inventory status change for this MIN.

    Available Date

    Date and time this MIN is available for assignment.

    Account Number

    If the MIN is assigned to a customer, this is that customer's account number.

From the MIN Search Results window, you can perform the following functions:

  • Edit a MIN by either double-clicking on the MIN or right-clicking on the MIN and selecting Edit. (See Editing an Inventoried MIN.)

  • If a Service Number is assigned to this MIN, edit the Service Number by right-clicking on the MIN and selecting Edit Inventoried Service Number. (See Editing an Inventoried Service Number.)

  • If a MIN's inventory status is Reserved, you can cancel the reservation by right-clicking on the MIN and selecting Cancel Reservation. (See Canceling MIN Reservations.)

  • If a MIN's inventory status is Aging, you can stop the aging process for that service number by right-clicking on the service number and selecting End Aging. (See End MIN Aging.)

  • View the inventory history of a MIN by right-clicking on the MIN and selecting View History. (See Viewing MIN Inventory History.)

  • If a MIN is assigned to a customer, you can view the account summary information for that customer by right-clicking on the MIN and selecting View Customer. (See Viewing MIN Customers.)

  • If a MIN's inventory status is Assigned or Aging, you can view the account information for that service by right-clicking on the service number and selecting View Service. The Customer # window is displayed and the selected service is highlighted on the Catalog Items tab.

  • View information about the MIN block a MIN belongs to by right-clicking on that MIN and selecting View MIN Block. This displays the MIN Block Search Results window, which lists information for that MIN block.

    Other than its title, the MIN Block Search Results window is identical to the MIN Blocks window. The same functionality is provided by both windows. See MIN Blocks for additional information.

  • An Actions button in the bottom left-hand corner of the MIN Search Results window lets you perform several functions on multiple MINs at the same time.

    Note:

    Filter out any MINs that you do not want to modify, as the bulk functions modify all MINs that are displayed in the MIN Search Results window at the time of your request.

    Available bulk functions:

    • Bulk Edit MINs

      Lets you edit all the MINs currently displayed in the MIN Search Results window. (See Bulk Editing Inventoried MINs).

    • Bulk Reserve MINs

      Lets you reserve all the Available MINs currently displayed in the MIN Search Results window. (See Bulk Reserving MINs.)

    • Bulk Cancel Reservations

      Lets you cancel the reservations for any of the Reserved MINs currently displayed in the MIN Search Results window. (See Bulk Canceling MIN Reservations).

    • Bulk End Aging

    • Lets you bulk end the aging of any of the Aging MINs currently displayed in the MIN Search Results window. (See Bulk End MIN Aging).
