Each available service number block is assigned a priority in the Service Number Block Prioritization list. When you retrieve a list of available service numbers from inventory, the system automatically prioritizes the service number blocks for assignment based upon the priorities defined in this list.
The service number block priorities are assigned as follows:
When you add a new service number block to the system, the system automatically assigns the lowest priority to that service number block.
When you change an existing service number block’s status to Available, the system automatically assigns the lowest priority to that service number block.
The system provides you with the capability to change the priorities assigned to the service number blocks. In order to do this, Application > CostGuard Client > Inventory Management > Service Number Inventory > Block Prioritization must be enabled in your Permission Profile.
To modify the priorities assigned to service number blocks:
From the Applications menu, select Inventory Management > Service Number Inventories > Block Prioritization. This displays the Service Number Block Prioritization window.

Only service number blocks with a status of Available are displayed in the prioritization list.

This window provides the following read-only information for each available service number block defined in the system:
Statistics Updated
Date and time the statistics were last updated.
Statistics displayed in this window are automatically generated on a regular basis, via the Inventory Automatic Updates task that is executed by the Job Scheduler (see Inventory Automatic Updates).
To recalculate these statistics, using the most current data available:
Click Update Now. The Service Number Blocks window is updated with the recalculated statistics and this field is updated with the current date and time.
Priority
Priority assigned to this service number block.
The system automatically numbers this column in ascending numerical sequence (1, 2, 3, … N), where 1 is the highest priority block and N is the lowest priority block.
NPANXX / X
First seven digits (NPA-NXX-X) of the service numbers in this block.
Total Items
Total number of service numbers in this block that are NRUF reportable (NRUF Category is NOT set to Do Not Report).
Note
A service number is only counted once, even if that service number resides in multiple inventories.
Contaminated
Identifies whether or not any of the service numbers within this block are assigned to a customer or another carrier (inventory status is Assigned or Intermediate):
Yes: Block is contaminated. One or more service numbers within this block are assigned to a customer or another carrier.
No: Block is not contaminated. None of the service numbers within this block are assigned to a customer or another carrier.
% Utilization
Number of Assigned service numbers that require NRUF reporting, divided by the total number of service numbers in the block (do not include Intermediate service numbers).
Notes:
Only service numbers that reside in inventories requiring NRUF reporting are included in this calculation.
If a service number resides in multiple inventories, it is only counted once.
Ported-In service numbers are not included in this calculation.
Only percentages greater or equal to 1% are displayed.
Only whole percentages are displayed.
Rate Center
Rate center the system assigned to the service numbers in this block.
The system derives the rate center from the service number block's NPANXX.
