Deleting a Service Number Block

You can only delete service number blocks that contain service numbers that have NEVER been assigned to a customer. Once a service number is assigned to a customer (inventory status becomes Assigned), its corresponding service number block can never be deleted.

In order to delete an existing service number block, the following permission must be enabled in your Permission Profile - Application > CostGuard Client > Inventory Management > Service Number Inventory > Service Number Blocks > Delete.

To delete a service number block:

1. In the Service Number Blocks window, right-click the desired service number block and select Delete.

   OR

   In the Service Number Block Search Results window, right-click the desired service number block and select Delete.

   This displays a confirmation message box.

2. Click Yes to delete this service number block.

   In order to delete a service number block, all of the service numbers within that block:

   • Must have an inventory status of Available or Not Available.

   • Must have never been assigned to a customer, which means its inventory status has never been set to Assigned or Aging. See Viewing Service Number Inventory History.

   If the conditions listed above are true:

   • All reservations for the service numbers in this block are deleted.

   • The service number inventory history associated with the service numbers in this block is deleted.

   • The service numbers within this block are deleted from inventory.

   • The service number block is deleted.

   • The confirmation window is closed.

   • You are returned to the window from which you requested to delete the service number block (either Service Number Block Search Results window or Service Number Blocks window) and the service number block is deleted from that window.

   If the conditions listed above are NOT true:

   • You cannot delete the service number block. An error message is displayed to indicate which condition is not true:

     1. Click Close. The error message is closed and you are returned the window from which you requested to delete the service number block (either Service Number Block Search Results window or Service Number Blocks window).
