The Phone Book tab lists Special Phone Book Numbers and how they are to be treated when the product is assigned to a service.

A product may have multiple special number entries. Special numbers may also be shared by multiple products.
General rules:
When multiple products containing the same special number are added to a service, only one instance of the number is added to that service's phone book.
When a product is removed from a service, the corresponding special numbers are removed from that service's phone book.
Note
Before a corresponding number is removed, the IDI platform checks the service for at least one active product containing the phone number. If no other product contains the corresponding number, the number is removed from the phone book. If another product on the service contains the number, it is retained in the phone book.
The Phone Book tab on the New Product window contains the following fields:
Add Entries to
For products with multiple special numbers, entries are added to the top or bottom in the order dictated by their assigned rank. For example, if the product is configured to add entries at the top, the highest ranked entry (Rank = 0) is placed at the top of the phone book. The next highest entry (Rank = 1) is placed in the second position, and so on.
If you select Bottom, the lowest rank entry (for example Rank = 2) is placed at the bottom of the phone book. The next lowest entry (for example Rank = 1) is placed one position up from the bottom, and so on.
Also, when placing entries at the bottom, if there is not room to add the lowest ranked entry (Rank = 2 in the above example), the next lowest ranked entry for which there is room will be added at the bottom. For example, if there is room for two, the entry ranked 1 would be added to the bottom and the entry ranked 0 would be added above 1. If there is room for only one, the entry ranked 0 would be added to the bottom.
When adding multiple products and all are configured to add entries to the Top of the phone book, each successive product will move the entries for the previously added product down in the phone book the number positions equal to the number of entries in the product being added. The last product to be added will have its entries placed on top according to rank.
The same rule applies when adding multiple products configured to add entries to the bottom of the phone book, except that each successive product moves the previously added product’s entries up in the phone book.
Prompt the user to make room in the phone book by removing entries.
Select this option to enable the removal of phone book entries during Make Sale when there is not sufficient room to add all special numbers associated with this product.
Note
The phone book window is displayed as needed regardless of the service-level Show Phone book configuration.
If this option is cleared, AND the service type is configured to not show the phone book, phone book entries cannot be removed during Make Sale. The product will be added without entries or will not be added at all, depending on All Numbers Required. See Effects of Service and Product Phone Book Settings
All Numbers Required: Checking this option will force the user to remove the product if there is not enough space.
Select this option to make all special phone numbers associated with the product required. This means the phone book must have enough room for ALL entries associated with this product in order to add the product to the service. If there is not enough room for all phone numbers, AND Prompt User to Make Room is selected, a message is displayed to either remove phone book entries, or remove the product from the order. If the service type is configured to not show the phone book AND Prompt User to Make Room is not selected, the product will not be added to the service. The IDI platform displays a message to indicate this.
When not checked, phone numbers associated with this product are considered optional. If there is not sufficient room for all numbers, The IDI platform adds as many as possible based on rank, and then displays a message to remove phone book entries if the service and product are configured to show the phone book, or simply adds the product to the service without the remaining entries.
Note
Products with All Numbers Required selected are added to the service before products that do not have this option checked. If there is more than one product on an order with this option selected, the products are added on a first-come-first-served basis. See Effects of Service and Product Phone Book Settings
Available Special Numbers
This list contains all the enabled special phone numbers as configured in Phone Book Special Numbers.
To add a number to the product, select the special number(s) from the list of Available Special Numbers (left pane) and click the right (>) arrow.
To remove a number from the product, select the special number from the list of Assigned Special Numbers (right pane) and click the left (<) arrow.
Selected Special Numbers
Entries within a product are ranked based on their order in the Selected Special Numbers list. Rank is used to determine the order by which entries are added to the phone book, and which entries are given precedence when the phone book does not have enough room for all entries.
To change the rank of an assigned number, select the special number from the list of Assigned Special Numbers and click the up/down arrows to move the number to the desired position. The entry with Rank = 0 is given the highest precedence, the larger the Rank number the lower the rank and precedence.
