Note
The system lets you use the TransUnion credit bureau to perform credit checks on new, prospective, and existing customers. For the latest information on credit scoring in the IDI platform, refer to the Credit Scoring article in the IDI Knowledge Center.
Notes:
In order to submit credit report requests, you must work with TransUnion to set up an account for your company. Contact your IDI Project Manager for advice on how to do this.
While some menus display options for Experian and Equifax, these credit bureaus are no longer supported
Access to credit scoring functionality in IDI Desktop Client is restricted through in Admin Console.

Access to credit scoring functionality in CostGuard Client is restricted through permission profiles in Admin Console > Security > Profiles > Permission Profiles > Application > CostGuard Client > Credit Scoring).

Credit Scoring – must be enabled for access to any credit scoring functionality in CostGuard Client. It controls whether or not Credit Scoring and Deposits is available in the CostGuard Client Applications menu, and whether the Credit Reports tab is available on the Customer window.
Credit Scoring > New – controls the ability to request a new report.
Credit Scoring > Setup > Configuration – controls access to workbook setup.
Credit Scoring > View Detail – controls the ability access the detail view on a credit report.
Credit Scoring > View Sensitive Credit Information – controls whether you can see sensitive information, for example full social security number or just the last four digits.
Accessing Credit Scoring Functionality in IDI Desktop Client
There are two areas for accessing credit scoring functionality:
Applications > Credit Scoring and Deposits menu

From this menu you can:
Request a credit report for a specific individual.
Review the results of a credit report request.
View the details of a credit report.
Resubmit a credit report request.
Search previously requested credit reports for reports that satisfy a specific set of search criteria.
Configure which Credit Scoring and Deposits workbook the system should use for credit checks and when in the process it should be used.
Credit Reports tab on the customer window
From this tab you can:
View a list of all credit reports that were requested for that customer.
Review the results of a particular credit report request for that customer.
View the details of a particular credit report for that customer.
Request a new credit report for that customer.
Note
The Credit Reports tab is only available to you if Credit Scoring is enabled in your Permission Profile (under Security > Profiles > Permission Profiles > Application > CostGuard Client).

Requesting a Credit Report
Use one of the following methods to display the TransUnion Credit Report Request window:
From the Customer Window Credit Reports tab - Right-click anywhere in the grid, select New Credit Report > TransUnion.
From the main menu Application > Credit Scoring and Deposits option.
From a Credit Report Search - Right-click anywhere in the search results and select New Credit Report.
From an open report - After you request a credit report, from the results in the Credit Report window, click the Actions button in the bottom left-hand corner and select Re-Submit. The New Credit Report Request window is re-displayed. The input fields are populated with the data you entered for the original credit report request.

Performing a Credit Report Search
From the main menu select Applications > Credit Scoring and Deposits > TransUnion Credit Report Search.
Then enter search criteria and click Search. The results are displayed in the Report Search Results form. For details see Credit Report Search.
Workbook Configuration
The Credit Scoring and Deposits Configuration form is used to select which workbooks are used. It also determines when -- throughout the POS Make Sale process -- the Credit Check Required workbook is evaluated.
To set up the Credit Scoring and Deposits Configuration:
From the main menu select Applications > Credit Scoring and Deposits > Setup > Configuration. This opens the Credit Scoring and Deposits Configuration form.

Credit Check Required
Workbook
Workbook is a list of Credit Check Required workbooks available for selection. Credit Check Required workbooks are used to determine whether or not the credit check request page is presented in the POS Wizard.
Evaluate when creating a new customer
The Evaluate when creating a new customer check box determines whether or not to evaluate the Credit Check Required workbook when adding a new customer.
Evaluate when using an existing customer
The Evaluate when using an existing customer check box determines whether or not to evaluate the Credit Check Required workbook when selecting an existing customer.
Evaluate when adding a new service
The Evaluate when creating a new service check box determines whether or not to evaluate the Credit Check Required workbook when adding a new service.
Write to debug file
The Write to debug file check box determines whether or not to write information to a debug file that can be reviewed to diagnose an issue.
Credit Report Response Workbook
The Credit Report Response Workbook list is used to select the appropriate Credit Report Response type of workbook. This workbook is used when a response is received from the credit bureau or when the credit check is skipped. It sets properties, such as credit class or credit limit, on the customer or credit report.
Order Changed Workbook
The Credit Scoring Order Changed Workbook list is used to select the appropriate Credit Scoring Order Changed type of workbook. This workbook is used to set a deposit or credit limit.
Complete Sale Workbook
The Credit Scoring Complete Sale Workbook list is used to select the appropriate Credit Scoring Complete Sale type of workbook. This workbook is used to set a deposit amount or credit limit. It is also used to display a message if a credit scoring-related item is sold which does not comply with the recommended limits based on credit class.
