Usage Notification functionality can reduce the instances of "bill shock" for wireless subscribers. Bill shock occurs when subscribers exceed their monthly usage, and then receive an unexpectedly large bill.
The Usage Notifications solution lets you:
Monitor services (unit balances) as a percentage of the total allotted units (covering all discounted units including minutes, occurrences and currency). See Monitoring Usage.
Configure rules per a defined limit (threshold). These rules dictate when to send notification messages (via SMS or E-mail) to alert subscribers as they approach or pass a usage threshold. See Setup Requirements.
Ensure subscribers are not charged for usage notifications sent via SMS by marking the originating Customer Service numbers as unbillable. See Orig/Term Numbers.
