Personal Identification Numbers, or PINs, are used to verify a customer's identity.

A PIN is generated by the system when a user requests one for a customer. It can be sent to the customer via e-mail, SMS or letter.

Verification takes place when the customer provides the correct PIN and the system performs a match.
