Attribute Categories group Attribute Objects created for the same IDI platform windows. The Attribute Categories determine where those Attribute Objects are displayed in the IDI platform. Each Attribute Category is linked to predetermined windows. Attribute Categories cannot be edited or deleted.
For example, an Attribute Object with an Attribute Category of "Product" is displayed in the list of Attribute Definitions on the
product specification
in Product Management. In addition, the Attribute Properties (fields) within the selected Attribute Object are presented on the
Product detail page
when assigning or editing the product in Customer Management or POS.
Once Attribute Objects have been created, they must be linked to an Attribute Category to be available for selection. (See Linking Attribute Objects)
