Purging a record removes it from the system so it can no longer be processed. Records marked for purge remain in the system until they are removed by the scheduled purge operation in RateBill.
Records marked for purge are stored in the UnbillableWriteoff table in the Parse database.
You can mark records to be purged from two windows:
The Unbillable Analyzer window.
The Unbillable Usage Records window.
Once they have been marked for purge, you can unmark them any time before the scheduled purge operation. (See Clearing Records from Pending Purge)
The Unbillable Purge operation is scheduled to run nightly in RateBill. This operation removes all marked CDR records having an Unbillable Rule Code. The information is removed from the following tables:
The UnguidableEvent table
CDREventDerived table
UsageRecord table in the usage databases
UsageRate table in the usage databases
Note
If a record waiting to be purged was rated and is currently in the UnguidableEvent table due to a Rederive operation, the UsageRate information is not removed since the operation cannot know which bill period to search for the record. Performing a Rerate operation removes the orphaned records from the UsageRate table.
For each purged record, a record is added to the UnbillableWriteoffsRemoved table as history. The system then empties the UnbillableWriteoff table.
