The Job Scheduler is an InfoScript that polls all scheduled tasks, in priority order, and executes any tasks that are pending or scheduled to run at that time.
Tasks can be run manually on demand, or scheduled to run automatically, on a regular basis (typically daily, during off-peak hours). To do this, the Job Scheduler must be installed and configured on your IDI Desktop Client by an authorized IDI associate.

The Scheduling Service can reside on any PC, including a remote machine that has direct communications with a provisioning switch. Multiple Scheduling Services can be configured on different machines within a single IDI environment, and each one can execute multiple jobs, running independently as needed.
The following job examples can be scheduled periodically or on demand:
Looking for orders within the IDI platform server that need to be provisioned to a switch.
Transferring files to third parties such as protection programs or calling name services.
Other periodic functions such as collections and generation of outcollect files.
Since Billing Services has access to the Job Scheduler, they can run the InfoScript whenever the need arises for IDI's SaaS customers.
This functionality is available to authorized users via Applications > Job Schedule Management.

User Functions
Authorized users (with applicable permissions) can manage jobs including running manually, scheduling and viewing a job's history. See Managing Jobs.
