Scheduling Services

The Scheduling Service is a mechanism that runs the automated jobs. Typically there is one service - CG Master Service under which all jobs run. Some systems may use a second remote service for provisioning jobs.

Managing scheduling services is an admin-level function reserved for authorized IDI associates or power users. These users can:

• Add or edit a Scheduling Service.

• Delete a Scheduling Service.

• Refresh the list.

• View Jobs associated with a Scheduling Service.

  Non-admin-level users with the applicable permission can also view the jobs under a scheduling service and from there edit a job to adjust the schedule, run a job manually or view a job's history. See Managing Jobs.

  To view existing Scheduling Services:

• Click Applications > Job Schedule Management > Scheduling Services.

  This displays the Scheduling Services form.

  

  Service ID	System generated. Unique ID assigned to each service.
  Name	Name of the service.
  Machine Name	Physical name of the machine where the scheduling service exists. The machine name from which the service is added. Automatically populated.
  Access Key	Required to manage the service and its associated jobs This key must match the one defined on the Scheduling Service Configuration form. The service looks for Scheduling Service items that have a machine name and access key that match its configuration. The default access key can be changed. Once a Scheduling Service starts, changes to this field are ignored until the next time the service is started.
  Description (optional)	Description of the service.
  Status	Current status of the service. Options are Enabled and Disabled.
  Last Poll Date	Date and time the service was last polled for jobs.
  Version	Version of the IDI platform software.
  User Name	Displays the name of the user who is scheduling services. Once a Scheduling Service starts, changes to this field are ignored until the next time the service is started.
  Last Modified	Most recent Date and time the Scheduling Service was changed.

Job Scheduling Management Permissions

Permissions for all IDI Desktop Client functions are available via Admin Console > Security > Profiles > Permission Profiles.

The permissions related to job scheduling management are located under Applications > CostGuard Client > Job Schedule Management.
