You configure the scheduling service to communicate with the IDI platform Host service. The machine name specifies the name of the machine where the scheduling service is actually running.
Note
This dialog can only be used bu authorized IDI associates when logged into the IDI Desktop Client via the .exe Application on the customer's Application Server where the scheduling service will run. Users can access the dialog via the client menu as shown below; however, the fields will be blank and not be editable.
To configure scheduling services:
Select Applications > Job Schedule Management > Scheduling Machine Configuration. The Scheduling Machine Configuration dialog box is displayed.
The Scheduling Service Configuration dialog box contains the following information:
Environment
(read-only)Name of one IDI Environment that the service on this machine attempts to run jobs in. It is recommended that there be only one Scheduling Service object defined in the IDI platform that matches the Machine Name and Access Key defined here.
Machine Name
(read-only)The system populates this field with the computer name.
The machine being configured; for example, where the Scheduling Service runs.
Access Key
Required to manage the service and its associated jobs
This key must match the one defined on the Scheduling Service Configuration window. The service looks for Scheduling Service items that have a machine name and access key that match its configuration.
The default access key can be changed.
Once a Scheduling Service starts, changes to this field are ignored until the next time the service is started.
User Name
Username used to login to the IDI platform Host service.
Once a Scheduling Service starts, changes to this field are ignored until the next time the service is started.
Password
(optional)Password used to login to the IDI platform Host service.
Once a Scheduling Service starts, changes to this field are ignored until the next time the service is started.
Confirm Password
Reenter the password to confirm.
Note
The fields in the Scheduling Machine Configuration window become editable once you Add an Environment.
Select the Environment from the drop-down to view the host communication information configured for that environment.
OR
Click Add to add another environment to the drop-down list. The Add Environment for Machine dialog box is displayed. The service on each machine is capable of running jobs in more than one environment.
Enter the name of the new environment.
Click OK to add the new name. The Environment now contains the name you added.
Enter the Access Key, User Name, Password and enter the password again to Confirm Password.
Note
You are required to enter the Access Key and User Name in order to save the configuration settings.
Click Save to make the changes or click Cancel to exit without making the changes.
Note
Once a service has been started, removing an environment from this configuration dialog does not stop the service from communicating with the IDI platform. That communication begins the next time the service is started. However, changes to the Scheduling Service items take effect at the next poll time Modifying the Machine Name or Access Key stops the service from running jobs configured for those items.
To remove an environment, click Remove to remove the environment. A confirmation box is displayed.
Click OK to remove the environment or click Cancel to cancel the change.
