Providers that pre-load eSIMS can easily select an available eSIM when adding a new service or swapping equipment in the Orders web module where the handset supports Dual Mode or GSM technology. This eliminates the need for additional steps such as preprinting an eSIM’s ICCID value to mimic a SIM Card.
Note:
Pre-loading eSIMS is supported by Bulk Import Module SIM Record Import. Refer to the specification in the IDI Knowledge Center:
Bulk Data – SIM Record Import – Knowledge Center (idibilling.com)
Setup
The functionality is toggled off by default (for providers that do not pre-load eSIMs) and can be toggled on as needed via a new Display Get Available eSIM setting in the Display section in Orders > MANAGE > Settings.

Note:
Existing functionality in the IDI Desktop Client Product Catalog supports setting up handsets to use eSIMs. When Product Class is Handset and Technology is Dual Mode (CDMA-SIM) or GSM, the Supported SIM Class drop down menu is enabled and you can select eSIM, eSIM or SIM Card (both).

Selecting an Available eSIM
When this functionality is enabled as described above and the selected handset on the service details Equipment Information view supports eSIMs, the SIM ID field will have an associated Get an available eSIM link. Clicking the link will automatically populate the SIM ID field with an available eSIM.
Note:
If after populating the SIM ID field with an eSIM and you change the handset to one that does not support eSIMs, the field will still be populated with the eSIM and must be cleared manually.
