The USPS address validation method is configured via BackOffice Management.
To configure USPS address validation, from the Applications menu, select BackOffice Management > Address Validation > USPS Configuration. This displays the USPS Configuration window.
Select the appropriate settings for your company:
Enable USPS Validation
If checked, the USPS validation service may be used, if necessary, to determine the address for the proper tax jurisdiction.
If unchecked, no address will be processed through the USPS validation service (internal to the IDI platform). The address will be processed through Enhanced Address Validation (if enabled), or the IDI platform basic address validation.
AMS Settings
Allow Standardized Addresses
If checked, the USPS validation process changes validated addresses to the USPS standardized format, and adds the Zip Code + 4 digits (if missing). For example "122 Lake Road" may be changed to "122 South Lake Road."
If unchecked, the USPS validation process does not change validated addresses to the standardized format, but fills in missing Zip Code and county information, if missing.
Multiple Addresses Max Return - If an address is ambiguous, USPS sends back a list of possible addresses. This field sets the maximum number of addresses to be returned for selection.
DPV Settings
DPV Disabled - DPV Disabled is an internal USPS dll setting. Leave this unchecked.
DPV Key Version - DPV Key Version is an internal USPS setting. This field is populated when the USPS dll is initialized.
DPV Security Key - DPV Security Key is an internal USPS setting. This field is populated when the USPS dll is initialized.
LACS Settings
LACS Disabled - LACS Disabled is internal USPS dll setting. Leave this unchecked.
LACS Security Key - LACS is an internal USPS setting. This field is populated when the USPS dll is initialized
