Changes to a line card are not immediate since a technician may need to go into the field and physically change the equipment to activate or deactivate the service. Once the technician has completed the work on-site, the line card needs to be updated by committing the route changes.
Right-click on the route, and select either Commit Route Changes or Bulk Commit Route Changes.
The shortcut menu on a route contains the following options.
Commit Route Changes
Commits the route changes for the selected route.
Bulk Commit Route Changes
Commits the route changes for all routes with changes in progress.
Once the changes are committed, the status of the equipment included in the route is changed in the inventory and in the current status column in the Equipment for Route area. Also, the current status of the route on the line card is changed.
