Adding or Editing an Assignment Template Rule

To add or edit an Assignment Template rule:

1. View the Add or Edit Assignment Template window. (See Adding or Editing an Assignment Template.)

2. To add a new assignment template rule, right-click in the Add/Edit Assignment Template window and select New.

   OR

   To edit an existing assignment template rule, right-click on the rule and select Edit.

   The Add (or Edit) Assignment Template Rule window is displayed (Show picture) (More).

   Category

   Browse Tag Category associated with the Browse Tag.

   • Select the appropriate browse tag Category from the list.

     OR

   • Select New Category to create a new Browse Tag Category and enter the name of the category. The new category is added to the Browse Tag Categories list.

     Note

     You cannot change the Category of a system-defined Browse Tag.

   def Category (rule)

   Category is the Browse Tag Category used for the rule.

   If the category is a user-defined browse tag category, the items are displayed on the Feature Selection page and are grouped by the name of the user-defined category.

   Minimum Required and Maximum Required

   In OnlineAgent:

   • The Minimum and Maximum values only affect the items displayed on the Feature Selection page. Handset, Plan, and Contract pages all display "Please select 1 of the following items:" if there is more than one choice.

   • The system first checks the template for a rule that has a Minimum = 1 and a Maximum = 1.

   • The following table lists the text displayed on the Feature Selection page based on each valid combination of Minimum and Maximum values.

     x (1 or more)	Blank	"Please select at least x of the following items."

   In SalesCentral:

   • Enter 0 (zero) in the Minimum Required field. The maximum value is not used in SalesCentral.

   Required Tags

   The Required Tags section lists all browse tags on the left side and their associated Browse Tag Categories on the right side. The Required Tags are like search criteria to filter the selections available during an OnlineAgent sale.

   To add a Browse Tag to the Rule,

   • Select the check box next to the desired Browse Tag name.

     To remove a Browse Tag from the Rule,

   • Clear the check box next to the Browse Tag you want to remove.

3. Select the appropriate browse tag category from the list.

   OR

   Select New Category to create a new browse tag category and enter the name of the category. The new category is added to the Browse Tag Categories list.

4. Enter the minimum and maximum number of browse tags that the assignment template rule requires during the sale.

5. Select the browse tags to add to the rule. All browse tags are listed on the left side of the dialog box. Their associated browse tag categories are on the right side. The Required Tags are the search criteria used to filter the allowable catalog items during an OnlineAgent sale.

6. Click Apply to save changes to the rule and keep the Add/Edit Assignment Template Rule window open so you can make additional modifications.

   OR

   Click Save to save changes to the Rule and close the window.

7. Click Apply or Save on the Edit Assignment Template window to save the Rule changes.
