Browse Tag Categories group Browse Tags into logical sets. Browse Tags can also be used within an Assignment Template to tell the IDI platform how that Category should be filtered during a sale.
The IDI platform supplies seven system-defined Browse Tag Categories which have specific functions. However, you can create additional categories.
System Browse Tag Categories:
| Indicates that corresponding browse tags should only be associated with Plan catalog items. |
| Indicates that corresponding browse tags should only be associated with Handset catalog items. Not used in SalesCentral. |
| Indicates that corresponding browse tags should only be associated with Feature catalog items. |
| Indicates that corresponding browse tags should only be associated with Contract catalog items. |
| Can be used to group auto-assign browse tags together for easier identification of the browse tags. Not recommended for use in SalesCentral. |
| Indicates that corresponding browse tags should only be associated with Accessory catalog items. Currently not in use. |
| Indicates that corresponding browse tags should only be associated with Service catalog items. Currently not used in OnlineAgent. |
Managing Browse Tag Categories
To manage Browse Tag categories:
From the Applications menu, select Product Management > Browse Tags > Browse Tag Categories. This opens the Browse Tag Categories window.

To add a new category, right-click in the list and select New.
OR
To edit a user-defined category, right-click an existing category and select Edit.
This opens the Add (or Edit) Category dialog box.

Enter the name of the Browse Tag Category and select the Account Level check box if applicable.
Click Save. The category is added to the list.
Notes:
Category names should be unique.
Account level categories are not displayed when browsing at the service level.
System defined Browse Tag Category names cannot be modified or deleted.
System defined category ID numbers are less than 10,000. User defined IDs are greater than 10,000.
