A CSA (Carrier Servicing Area) check is a search made to ensure that wireless service can be offered based on a subscriber's zip code.
A carrier uploads a coverage file with zip codes and their coverage status that can be searched when a new customer requests service, or an existing customer requests service for a different zip code.
If a customer has the IDI platform configured to perform these checks, during a Make Sale a CSA Check page is displayed that must be completed.
You may choose to require a Service Contact when the zip code entered for CSA check does not match the Primary Contact. This is to avoid tax-related issues that may arise when adding an account that has a service address outside of coverage area.
There is a setting to enable this functionality in Admin Console under Business Rules > Local Services > CostGuardService > POS. New Setting is called Require Service Address On alternate CSA Zip.
When the setting is enabled, the CSA Check wizard page requires a Service Contact when there is coverage, but the entered zip code does not match the Primary Contact zip code. It defaults to disabled.
