RTE034 - No retail rating method defined for this call type

Prev Next

Override NOT allowed

Name

No retail rating method defined for this call type.

Common Cause

The usage record failed rating: although pricing plan, pricing plan detail, and rate plan records were found, no rate plan details were found that were able to rate this usage record.

Common Resolution(s)

Actions you can take to resolve the problem:

  • Modify or add a rate plan detail to the rate plan using these steps:

    1. Write down the Usage Type of the recycled record. (NOTE that a Pricing Plan (catalog ID) may be shown on in the recycled record, but this should be ignored – it is the svctypeid of the pricing plan and is not useful from the CG GUI.)

    2. Search for the service number of interest.

    3. On the Services tab of the account - right click on the appropriate Service number in the top panel and choose Properties/Assigned Pricing Plans on the menu.

    4. Peruse the pricing plans [including their End Date] to determine which pricing plan should be processing this record. Usually there is only one, but several may be shown if older pricing plans have been assigned to the service or if Pricing Plan hunting is being used (i.e. a la carte pricing). Write down the Description of the pricing plan of interest. If there are no pricing plans shown, a pricing plan needs to be assigned to the service [rather than modifying a Pricing Plan that is already assigned].

    5. Go into the Product Catalog, and do a Product Catalog search using the icon in the top left of the window.

    6. In the Product Catalog Search window, enter the Description (from above) in the Description field and click Search. (The wildcard character * may be used if needed.)

    7. Right click on the pricing plan of interest (there are likely many paths to the same pricing plan, so right-click on any one), and pick ‘Pricing Plan Details’ on that menu.

    8. Right click on the Pricing Plan Details row with the appropriate Usage Type and choose ‘A Leg Rate Plan Details’

    9. A screen will appear with the Rate Details for this Rate Plan – none of which worked to process this usage record.

    10. Peruse the details to find the rate details that you think should have processed the usage record. If none exists, right-click and pick New to create a new Rate Details record. Otherwise, compare the usage record to the rate details criteria (taking into account the Distance Type of the usage record, TOD groups, Effective Date, etc.) to try to determine why this rate details was not used, and fix appropriately. If the expected RPD record specifies a calling area, insure the calling area is configured correctly. If necessary, contact IDI for additional support.

Details

Each service can have one or more pricing plans assigned to it for rating of calls. In this case none of the rate plans in those pricing plans had a rate plan detail that was able to rate this usage record. The user needs to either modify an existing rate plan detail record or set a new one up.
