Prioritizing MIN Blocks

Prev Next

Each available MIN block is assigned a priority in the MIN Block Prioritization list. When you retrieve a list of available MINs from inventory, the system automatically prioritizes the MIN blocks for assignment based upon the priorities defined in this list.

The MIN block priorities are assigned as follows:

  • When you add a new MIN block to the system, the system automatically assigns the lowest priority to that MIN block.

  • When you change an existing MIN block’s status to Available, the system automatically assigns the lowest priority to that MIN block.

The IDI platform lets you change the priorities assigned to the MIN blocks. You can prioritize your MIN blocks to achieve the MIN utilization required to avoid returning blocks to the pooling administrator. To change MIN block priorities, Application > CostGuard Client > Inventory Management > MIN Inventory > Block Prioritization must be enabled in your Permission Profile.

To modify the priorities assigned to MIN blocks:

  1. From the Applications menu, select Inventory Management > MIN Inventories > Block Prioritization.

    Note

Only MIN blocks with a status of Available are displayed in the prioritization list.

The MIN Block Prioritization window provides the following information for each available MIN block currently defined in the system:

    Note

    These fields cannot be modified.

    Statistics Updated

The statistics displayed in this window are automatically generated on a regular basis, via the Inventory Automatic Updates task that is executed by the Job Scheduler (see Inventory Automatic Updates). This field contains the date and time these statistics were last updated.

To recalculate these statistics, using the most current data available:

    • Click Update Now.

    • The recalculated statistics are displayed and this field is updated with the current date and time.

    Priority

Priority assigned to this MIN block.

    Note

The system automatically numbers this column in ascending numerical sequence (1, 2, 3, … N), where 1 is the highest priority block and N is the lowest priority block.

    MBI

MIN Block Identifier - first six digits (NPA-NXX) of the MINs in this block.

    Total Items

Total number of MINs in this block that are available for assignment (inventory status is not Retired or Not Available).

    Note

    This field cannot be modified.

    Contaminated

Identifies whether or not any of the MINs within this block are assigned to a customer (inventory status is Assigned):

    • Yes - block is contaminated. One or more MINs within this block is assigned to a customer.

    • No - block is not contaminated. None of the MINs within this block are assigned to a customer.

    % Utilization

Number of Assigned MINs divided by the total number of MINs in this block.

    Note

If a MIN resides in multiple inventories, it is only counted once.

    Rate Center

Rate center the system assigned to the MINs in this block.

    Note

The system derives the rate center from the MIN block's MBI.

  2. To search for a specific MIN block, enter the MBI and/or Rate Center of the desired MIN block (wildcards may be used in both fields) and click Find.

If a matching MIN block exists, it is highlighted in the MIN Block Prioritization window. The Find button changes to Find Next.

  3. If the highlighted MIN block is not the one you are looking for, click Find Next to locate the next MIN block in the list that matches the specified search criteria.

If you reach the end of the list, the following message is displayed.
