Editing an Inventoried Service Number

In order to modify an inventoried service number, Application > CostGuard Client > Inventory Management > Service Number Inventory > Service Numbers > Edit must be enabled in your Permission Profile. You can access the Edit Inventoried Service Number function from the following locations within the IDI Desktop Client:

  • Service Number Search Results window - either double-click on the desired service number or right-click on the desired service number and select Edit.

  • New Service window displayed when assigning inventoried services to a customer, via the New Customer Wizard or Add Service(s) & Feature(s) Wizard - click the Actions button and select Edit Inventoried Service Number.

  • Service Number window displayed when modifying an inventoried service number, via the New Customer Wizard or Add Service(s) & Feature(s) Wizard - click the Actions button and select Edit Inventoried Service Number.

  • MIN Search Results window - right-click on the desired MIN and select Edit Inventoried Service Number.

    To edit an inventoried service number:

  1. Use one of the methods described above to display the Edit Inventoried Service Number window.

    EditInventoriedServiceNumber

    The Edit Inventoried Service Number window provides the following input fields:

    Service Number

    Service number being modified.

    Note

    This field cannot be modified.

    Inventory

    Name of the inventory this service number is assigned to.

    Note

    This field cannot be modified.

    Block Status

    Current status of the service number block this service number is assigned to.

    Note

    This field cannot be modified.

    Inventory Status

    Current inventory status of this service number. To modify, select the appropriate inventory status from the drop-down list.

    Note

    This field cannot be modified, if the current inventory status is Reserved, Assigned, Aging, or Donated to Pool.

    Status Change Date

    Date and time this service number's inventory status changed to the current status.

    Note

    This field cannot be modified.

    Reservation / Aging Interval

    Indicates the service number is Aging or Reserved. If neither applies, this field is blank.

    • Aging: Number of days this service number must age before it can be reassigned (inventory status changed to Available).

    • Reserved: Number of days this service number will be reserved, before it is made available for assignment (inventory status changed to Available).

    Calculation:

    Reservation/Aging Interval = Available Date - Status Change Date. The result is reported in days.

    Note

    This field cannot be modified.

    Available Date

    Date this service number is available for assignment.

    • If the inventory status is Reserved or Aging, this field is required and can be modified. To modify, select the desired date from the drop-down list.

    • If the inventory status is Not Available, this field is optional and can be modified. To modify, select the desired date from the drop-down list.

    • For all other inventory statuses, this field cannot be modified.

    Note

    The Available Date must occur on or after the Status Change Date.

    Account Number

    If the service number is assigned to a customer, this is that customer's account number.

    Billing Number / MIN

    Wireline service - Billing number for this service.

    Wireless service - MIN assigned to this service.

    NRUF Category

    NRUF Category assigned to this service number.

    Notes:

    • If this service number does not belong to a service number block, Do Not Report is displayed..

    • This field cannot be modified.

    NRUF Sub-Category

    NRUF Sub-Category assigned to this service number. To modify, select the desired NRUF sub-category from the list.

    Note

    If this service number does not belong to a service number block, this field is empty and cannot be modified.

    Block Owner

    If this service number belongs to a service number block, this field identifies the owner of that service number block.

    Note

    This field cannot be modified.

    Is Ported-In Number

    Indicates the service number has been ported-in from another carrier.

    If this service number belongs to a service number block, this check box is disabled and cannot be selected.

    Otherwise, select this check box if this service number is owned by another carrier.

    Ported To

    Name of the carrier the service number was given to, if applicable.

    If this service number was given to another carrier, select that carrier from the list.

    Ported From

    Name of the carrier If this service number is owned by another carrier, if applicable.

    Select that carrier from the list.

    Note

    This field is only enabled when the Is Ported-In Number check box is checked.

    Inventory Groups

    Lists the inventory groups to which this service number is assigned.

    Note

    You can change the inventory group assignments Right-click within the Inventory Groups pane and select Select Groups. The Select Inventory Groups window is displayed. See Selecting an Inventory Group for more information.

    Notes

    Additional information and/or comments regarding this service number.

  1. Make the desired changes and click Save to modify the service number. The Edit Inventoried Service Number window is closed.

    Note

    If you requested this function from the Service Number Search Results window, the Service Number Search Results window is updated to reflect the change you just made.

    From the Edit Inventoried Service window, you can perform the following functions:

    • View the inventory history for this service number. Click the Actions button and select View History (see Viewing Service Number Inventory History).

    • If the service number is assigned to a customer, you can view the account information for that customer. Click the Actions button and select View Customer (see Viewing Customers).

    • If the service number is reserved, you can view the reservation details. Click the Actions button and select View Reservation. The information for this reservation is displayed in the Reservations Search Results window (see Searching Reservations for additional information).
