Catalog Groups are logical groupings of the items in your Product Catalog. They are used to distinguish between features and rate plans. Catalog Groups can also be used to group catalog items for reporting purposes.
Note
If you want to use Catalog Groups for reporting purposes, custom development may be required to integrate this functionality into your reports.
To view the Catalog Group(s) that is assigned to a particular catalog item:
Under Applications > Product Management, select Product Catalog. The Product Catalog window is displayed.
Right-click the desired catalog item and select Catalog Groups.
Note
The Catalog Groups menu option is not available for product folders.
The Catalog Groups associated with this product are displayed.
Note
The name of the selected catalog item is displayed in the title bar. For example, the title bar in the figure below says "Catalog Groups - Wireless". "Wireless" is the name of the selected catalog item.

The Catalog Groups window displays the following information for each Catalog Group that is currently assigned to the selected catalog item:
Catalog Group ID
Unique ID the system assigned to the Catalog Group when it was added to the system.
Display Name
Descriptive name entered for the Catalog Group when it was added to the system.
Notes:
A Product belonging to a "plan" group and is marked as "IsPOS", is created in POS as a "Rate Plan". A Product that belongs to a "features" group and is marked as "IsPOS" is created in POS as a "Feature".
An item belonging to the NLAD group, determines that its associated service should be enrolled in or de-enrolled from NLAD (National Lifeline Accountability Database). When the item is assigned to a customer, the NLAD forms are displayed in POS Make Sale. (See also: NLAD Integration)
