Before warranties can be assigned to a serialized Retail Product, they must be created in Product Management.
In the Applications menu, select Product Management > Warranties. This displays the list of existing Warranties.

Name
(required)
Unique name or code of the Warranty.
Maximum characters: 50
Description
(required)
Description of the Warranty that is displayed in POS during a sale and in the customer record after a completed sale.
Maximum characters: 50
Term (in days)
(required)
Number of days the warranty is valid once it has been started for a customer.
Terms and Conditions
Text specifying details of the warranty.
Maximum characters: unlimited
Start Date
(required)
First date the warranty can be assigned to a serialized Retail Product.
Note
Editing this date does not affect the warranty if it is already assigned to a customer.
End Date
Last date the warranty can be assigned to a serialized Retail Product.

To add a Warranty, right-click in the table and select New. To edit a Warranty, right-click the appropriate warranty and select Edit. This displays the Add (Edit) Warranty window.

Enter or change the appropriate information as described above.
Click Save.
Once a warranty is created it can be assigned to a serialized Retail Product. See Working with Retail Products - Warranties Tab.
