Adding Dynamic Parameters, Data Injections and Dynamic Variables

Prev Next

Automated Tasks can contain parameters whose values are populated when the coordinator enters the information for a new Workflow.

Dynamic Parameters

To add a dynamically populated parameter:

  • In the parameter field, enter the appropriate string to tell the system it should get the information from Extended Data. The string has the following format:

@[extended data name]

where extended data name is a Field Label in the Definition’s User-Defined Extended Data.

Note:

To include a dynamically populated parameter, the field name must exist as Extended Data in the Definition.

Data Injections

  • Data injections always use the following format of @[string].

  • Entering a string of text means that the variable is dynamic, and the variable will be different each time it is used.

Note:

Extended data or global ext data can be used within the brackets.

Dynamic Variables

  • Dynamic Variables use a link that comes from other IDI platform web apps.

The string entered reuses a parameter that is injected into the variable.
