Adding an Equipment Type

From the Applications menu select Inventory Management > Equipment Inventories > Equipment Types. This displays the list of Equipment Types.
Right-click on a row and select New. This displays the Add Equipment Type dialog box.

Enter the Equipment Type information as described below:

Equipment Type ID	Unique system-defined identifier of the equipment type.
Description (required)	Enter the name of the equipment. Maximum characters = 50.
Assignment Method (required)	Select the associated assignment method for this equipment type from the drop-down list (Not Assignable, Single Customer, Multiple Customers).
Has Addresses	Checked: Equipment of this type can have associated Service Addresses. For example, since a Terminal is limited to serving a limited number of addresses, you can include those addresses with the piece of equipment. This allows you to find the appropriate terminal based on the address of the service number. Also, if the Equipment Type has addresses, each equipment of that type includes an Address tab when adding or editing that equipment. Unchecked: Equipment of this type cannot have associated Service Addresses. (default)
Allow Reassignment	Checked: Equipment of this type can be reassigned. For example, a terminal pair can be reused, but a circuit ID might not be reusable. (default) Unchecked: Equipment of this type cannot be reassigned. Note: This field is always applied to the Multiple Customers assignment method, and can be selected for the Single Customer assignment method.
Attribute Defaults
Attribute Definition	Select an Attribute Object from the list, if appropriate.
