Create Dynamic Charge products (similar to Discounts) as needed. There are four types of Dynamic Charge products:
Charge – Replaces Volume Discount set up when Discount Type = Charge. Charge is no longer an option for Volume Discounts.
Round Up lets you specify a round up value (1, 5 or 10 Dollars).
Periodic Usage Charge - This applies a flat rate charge to a subscriber’s account when their usage on a given calendar day fits specific usage criteria as defined via the Dynamic Charge wizard.
Prorated Product Charge - This supports prorating for products with a dynamic (sliding scale) price. This lets you account for mid-period changes and prorate the charge for a product based on the active features throughout the month. For example, you can dynamically calculate in arrears the charge for a data package where the price is based on the quantity of specific SKUs on an account across services. The calculation takes into account proration for adds and disconnects done throughout the bill period.
To create a Dynamic Charge product in the Product Catalog:
Choose New > Dynamic Charge.
Enter the SKU, Description, and other product information as needed in the New Dynamic Charge Product form.

The other tabs on this dialog (Taxes, General Ledger, Behavior, etc...) are the same as when adding/editing a Product. See Adding Products.
After saving the product, right-click and choose Configure.
In the Dynamic Charge Configuration Wizard choose to create a Dynamic Charge Type.
The wizard for a Charge Dynamic Charge product is the same as a Volume Discount Charge Discount Type; however, there are special considerations for the various types.
Round Up
If you choose Round Up, the next page lets you specify the Round Up Amount (1, 5 or 10 dollars). This is the only configuration option for Round Up.
Periodic Usage Charge
Note
At this time, charging period is not configurable. Periodic Usage Charges always use a calendar day as the charging period.
The configuration process is similar to other dynamic charges; however, when Periodic Usage Charge is selected, two new pages are presented to specify a billing SKU, and to let you select one or more serving Public Mobile Networks (PMNs) as criteria.
In all, one or more of the following usage criteria may be selected:
Usage Types
Service Types
Distance Types
Orig Locations
Term Locations
Serving PMNs
The new wizard pages specific to Periodic Usage Charges are described below.
SKU - This page lets you select the charge SKU to apply to the account when the specified usage criteria are met.
PMNs - This page is for selecting one or more Public Mobile Networks (PMNs).
Prorated Product Charge
When the Prorated Product Charge option is selected, the Dynamic Charge configuration wizard will only allow for entry of the contributing products and tiers. These are the only forms presented in the wizard. There is no support for Usage (Usage Types, Service Types, Distance Types, Orig Locations or Term Locations).
Prorated Product Charge can only apply for products where contributing (as configured in the wizard) and eligible products (assigned the dynamic charge) are the same.
When adding tiers, the following rules apply:
Tier Units = Quantity
Tier Type = Single
Amount Type = Constant Amount
